ABOUT THE SCHOOL/DEPARTMENT
Ralston Elementary is located in the Genesee Park and Lookout Mountain neighborhoods of Colorado's Front Range foothills. Ralston is a proud part of the Golden High School articulation. There are currently 290 students enrolled at Ralston in kindergarten through 5th grade. We are proud of our history of high academic achievement and growth, including earning the National Blue Ribbon Award. We are equally proud of our focus on the whole child, hosting full-time Art, Music, and Physical Education and Jeffco's first Kindness Crew. We emphasize content integration, authentic tasks, project-based learning, STEM Lab, meaningful integration of technology, and innovative practices. ABOUT THE JOB
Ralston Elementary Departmentalizes in grades 3-5. This position is for the 3rd grade teacher that will be teaching math, science, and Social Studies curriculum for our students. We have two classrooms at each grade level, so you will have one homeroom in the morning and the other class in the afternoon.

RESPONSIBILITIES
SUMMARY: Responsible for instructing students in an elementary grades K-6. Creates lesson plans, instructs students on core subjects such as science, literature, and math, and creates a well-rounded, comprehensive instructional preparedness based on the District's Core Curriculum. Create instructional resources for use in the classroom.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities.
Create positive educational climate for students to learn in.
Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.
Participate in ongoing training sessions.
Create lesson plans and modify accordingly throughout the year.
Grade papers and perform other administrative duties as needed.
Read and stay abreast of current topics in education.
Utilize various curriculum resources and technologies to enhance student learning.
Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans.
Utilize District curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served.
Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
Prepare and distribute parent communications.
Observe and evaluate student's performance.
Manage student behavior in the classroom creating appropriate behavior strategies.
