TCGPlayer - IRW Tax Analyst
Analyst Job Description (Level 24)
Reports and works directly with a tax Information Reporting and Withholding (IR&W) senior manager to ensure that the appropriate corporate tax policies, methods, standards, processes, reporting, and training are developed, applied, and understood by impacted partners.
As an analyst, you will:
Review, analyze and implement new information reporting and withholding requirements
Draft business requirement documents (BRD) for withholding, electronic 1099s and other reporting requirements
Work with product and technology, legal and privacy, risk and compliance, and other cross-functional teams to gather facts and develop strategies to ensure compliance with IR&W procedures such as withholding and reporting requirements
Partner with teams to optimize tax processes and leverage technology to implement IR&W processes, including Withholding and Crypto.
Work with analytics to build reports for forecasting withholding and reporting
Analyze information used in the preparation of various information returns
Assist with IRS Notices such as CP2100 and TIN solicitations
Review Forms W-9, 147-C, W-8 BEN / W-8BEN-E and similar documentation
Identify procedural and systems gaps and differences in reporting procedures between company entities and implement standardization in areas where possible
Become familiar with TCGPlayer’s and eBay’s marketplace platforms and the tax information collection experience for each platform
Work on request for proposals (RFPs) for potential new tax vendors
Assist IR&W team members as needed
Qualifications include:
Clear and concise communication skills
Ability to quickly grasp complex tax requirements
Ability to communicate tax requirements to other partners
Ability to work in multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to build positive relationships with partners
Ability to work independently and be a great teammate
Ability to use MS Excel, Google Sheets, MS Powerpoint, Google Slides, Atlassian’s Jira and Confluence products
Knowledge of IRS Tax Forms (W-8/W-9) validation
Previous experience with US Tax principles
