This position is a member of our Plan and Technical Review Section in the Water Supply Division.
Here's what you'll be doing...
- Serve as the Work Leader for the Technical Review and Oversight Team by assisting management with the day-to-day planning, organization, and coordination of team projects/assignments and timelines.
- Review and evaluate engineering design and performance data for public water systems utilizing groundwater or surface water.
- Receive, distribute, and oversee work related to technical submittals by public water systems and assist with management review and editing of final determination letters.
- Assist with the hiring process, staff development activities, performance management decisions, and personnel actions.
- Provide technical assistance, training and mentoring to staff and internal and external customers. Serve as a senior-level technical and regulatory resource for assigned programs/topics.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in the administration of a program relevant to assignment
OR
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to assignment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with managing project workflows.
- Experience performing peer reviews of technical letters or reports.
- Experience mentoring/training others in administrative and/or technical tasks.
- Experience preparing guidance documents.
- Experience reviewing or preparing requests for exceptions to 30 TAC Chapter 290.

CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES
This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Engineering Specialist V state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the General Engineering Specialist V series.
