Job Title: TBI Program Assistant (Canandaigua site)
Pay Range: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a Part Time position (20 hours per week). Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday during program hours (10:30 am - 2:30 pm). Evening work may be required as job duties demand.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma.
- One year of experience providing services to individuals with disabilities, preferably working with individuals with traumatic brain injury.
- Knowledge of community resources and means of accessing these resources.
- Valid NYS driver’s license.
- Demonstrates basic reasoning and writing skills.
Responsibilities:
- Imparts agency philosophy of “Equal Opportunity, Independence and Realization of Individual Potential” to clients, families, program staff and community resources.
- Maintains confidentiality of information relating to individuals and their families in accordance with agency policy.
- Functions as the primary assistant to the TBI Program Specialist.
- Implements each program participant’s therapeutic and behavioral plans under the guidance of the TBI Program Specialist.
- Works with individuals on special instructional projects to achieve goals on each individual’s Program Plan.
- Provides the TBI Program Specialist with information about program participants, which will assist in the development of appropriate program experiences for all participants.
- Charts individual’s performance according to established guidelines and timeframes.
- Completes SDP filing within established timeframes and protocols.
- Assists in the development of instructional materials.
- Assists the TBI Program Specialist in related instructional work as required.
- Assists in maintaining the cleanliness and the orderly appearance of program equipment, supplies and program area.
- Attends all meetings as required and appropriate.
- Lead planned small group activities.
- Provide participants with assistance on ADL’s.
- Functions as a positive, contributing member of the TBI program team.
- Participates in conferences, workshops and in-service training to enhance job skills and personal growth and development.
- Adheres to agency’s policies and procedures as well as department guidelines.
- Performs other duties at the discretion of the Program Director or his/her designee.
