Position Overview
The Enrolled Agent we will be adding to our client’s team will be proficient with individuals, partnerships, C corporations, S Corporations, and Fiduciary tax preparations. They will have an exceptional set of people skills when it comes to dealing with our clients and their highly specialized tax requests. You are a communicator who loves to support people and has a no-drama mindset.

Responsibilities will include
- Represent clients (taxpayers) relating to issues with their taxes to the IRS.
- Maintain client confidentiality regarding tax information and personal documents.
- Perform audits and appeals on behalf of their clients.
- Provide tax advice to clients in adherence to IRS rules and regulations.
- Educate clients about tax laws and regulations and how they affect their business.
- Pursue continuing education courses each year to maintain licensure.
- Answer client calls and sets up appointments to meet about their taxes.
- Help clients identify potential liabilities on their balance sheet.
- Create a tax plan for clients for future use.
- Calculate deductions and other exceptions that could contribute to a client paying less in taxes.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience the Enrolled Agent role
- 3-5 years experience for the Tax Preparer role
- Special Enrollment Exam Certification – must have a current certification.
- High School Diploma – required.
- Exceptional people skills, both written and spoken word.
- Highly organized with an eye for detail.
- Currently have a Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN) preferred
- Participate in an education course.
- Complete 16 hours of continued education (with at least two ethics courses) every year.
- Complete 72 hours of continued education every three years.
- Microsoft Office; Word, and Excel.
- Experience with Lacerte software is required. Pro-system experience will be considered.
- Time management skills, set priorities on projects, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to ask questions when needed, have a solutions mindset and enjoy working with a diverse group of people and personalities.
