This position reports to the AVP, Tax Reporting and Compliance and is responsible for supporting direct and indirect tax compliance, tax provision and controversy.
RESPONSIBILITES:
• Prepare and review quarterly and year-end ASC 740 income tax provision calculations.
• Prepare and review federal and state workpapers.
• Prepare and review federal and state corporate and partnership income tax returns.
• Assist with the preparation and review of sales, use, and property tax reconciliations, payments, and returns.
• Track and respond to tax authority notices.
• Prepare tax memos to support company tax positions.
• Respond to document requests from tax auditors.
• Contribute to tax planning initiatives.
• Manage projects as assigned.
• May have one direct report.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• BA/BS in Accounting from a US-based institution of higher education.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in income tax compliance and/or ASC 740 income tax accounting.
• Be able to exercise judgment with defined procedures and practices.
• Demonstrate initiative and make recommendations to facilitate decision making.
• Self-starter and ability to work independently / Strong work ethic.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• General office environment and responsibilities
• Extensive use of the computer which involves viewing a monitor and keyboarding for most of the workday
• Placing and receiving phone calls
