This manufacturing company is looking for a right hand to the Tax Director. You will be working on special projects alongside a solid tax team. Solid senior tax associates with corporate experience are encouraged to apply!
Responsibilities:
- Review and manage all aspects of U.S. international income tax compliance for all foreign entities, Subpart F, E&P, tax pools, section 987, ODL/OFL accounts, and foreign tax credits calculation
- Dividends and foreign tax credits and planning for sales and flotation
- Assist in various international tax planning projects (e.g., foreign tax credit usage optimization, Subpart F minimization strategies, income sourcing & characterization, PE analysis, legal entity structuring)
- Participate in various international tax planning projects (e.g., foreign tax credit usage optimization, Subpart F minimization strategies, income sourcing & characterization, PE analysis, legal entity structuring, intercompany netting policy)
- Manage and monitor the maintenance of records for withholding tax or other taxes related to international operations to ensure foreign tax credits are reported accurately and timely
- Prepare/review companies corporate federal and state income tax returns and provisions in accordance with ASC 740
- Review/prepare complex U.S. Federal C-corporation and partnership tax workpapers, income tax returns (1120, 1065, etc.) and other reports including estimates and extensions.
- Assist with ASC 740 tax provision and tax accounting processes, including quarterly and year-end reporting and return to accrual process.
- Provide tax assistance with planning for business decisions and implement change.
- Provide assistance with responses to tax information requests and notices from tax authorities
- Identify and implement process improvement projects including the use of tools/techniques to increase efficiency.
- Provide tax support on acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and corporate restructuring.
- Interpret tax policy, procedures and law and provide strategic planning to ensure efficient tax compliance and identify tax-saving opportunities.
- May review U.S. international and/or state compliance, including Forms 5471 and 8858, separate company state returns and domestic combinations.
- 7+ years of progressive work experience with both a multinational companys corporate tax department and public accounting firm, with accounting for income taxes experience preferred.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (CPA, MBA or MST preferred).
- Experience in all aspects of tax (e.g., compliance, controversy, tax accounting, process improvement, tax technology).
- Solid understanding of taxation relating to U.S. based multinational companies.
- Advanced excel knowledge.
- Experience with ERP systems, Vertex, Virtual Trader, Alteryx, and/or Power BI is preferred.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with a proven ability to set priorities and work independently on multiple projects.
- Accountable and self-motivated with an ability to work independently and as part of a fast paced, de-centralized team.
- Advanced knowledge of Federal, State and/or International tax statutes and regulations with ability to research and interpret tax law.
- Experience working with large data and championing and implementing process improvements.
- Skilled in developing and analyzing tax planning and tax minimization strategies.
