We are seeking a(an) Tax Intern for our team to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. Did you get into our industry for these reasons? Job Summary 

• Assists with state income tax research, state income/franchise tax audits, state tax planning, and state related financial statement items. 
• The tax department is comprised of approximately65people and is divided into 3 main groups (all of which work closely together): 
• Compliance (prepares federal and state income/franchise tax returns) 
• Research &Consulting (handles federal and state income/franchise tax audits as well as research & planning associated with federal and state income tax issues) 
• Indirect tax (handles sales tax, property tax, and unclaimed property) 
• This position will be working with the Research & Consulting Group, specifically, with the state and local income tax group. 

General Responsibilities: 

• Assists with information gathering for state income tax audits and analyzes tax assessment notices and responds verbally and/or in writing. 
• Assists with miscellaneous state projects other duties as assigned(e.g., effective state income tax rate, true-up management fees, state uncertain tax positions accrual, sending files to storage, reconciling franchise tax liabilities, creating and storing files, etc.). 
• Assists with various state income tax research projects, including writing memos to document research. 

Requirements: 

• Accounting major 
• Minimum of Junior Status (preferred) 
• GPA 3.5+ (preferred)
