ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Controls and coordinates timely filing of real and personal property tax statements with various state and local taxing jurisdictions and outside consultants
- Coordinates payment processes for all ad valorem property taxes, including review and preparation of all tax payments on behalf of HF Sinclair and their subsidiaries, determining correct amounts for payment, identifying discrepancies, and tracking tax payments
- Collects accounting records and coordinates asset data input required for annual property tax renditions and appeals and monitors property transfers and acquisitions in order to allocate property taxes between owner entities
- Coordinates timely payment and filing of all excise/sales/use tax returns
- Conducts, prepares and coordinates the filing of sales and use tax with various federal, state and local taxing jurisdictions and outside consultants
- Prepares and files state tax returns, secretary of state filings, and annual business reports for HF Sinclair, and all corporate subsidiaries as required
- Coordinates with tax managers and other stakeholders to retrieve, record and retain vital corporate information and obtain corporate registrations and proper business licenses necessary to operate legally in new states and jurisdictions
- Maintains department calendars to ensure all HF Sinclair and subsidiary ad valorem property tax, annual report, business registration filing and stock award notice obligations are filed as required
- Assists in gathering information for federal, state, and local income/excise tax audits as needed
- Codes invoices for the department in accounting system
