Position Title: Tax Accountant
Business Unit: Finance
Reports To: Director of Corporate Tax
Position Overview:
This position is primarily responsible for assisting in the tax accounting provision process and reporting under ASC 740. The incumbent is responsible for assisting in the federal, state and local compliance process.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assists with the preparation of federal, state, local and special tax returns by collecting, analyzing, and formatting financial and tax information.
Assists with the tax provision process, in accordance with ASC 740, including gathering and analyzing financial information needed for compiling SEC footnotes, tax accounts roll forwards and deferred tax analysis including extensive review of fixed asset depreciation details for book tax differences and conversion reconcilements.
Prepares and processes monthly, quarterly and annual state and local tax payments including franchise and income tax, sales and use tax, property and other tax returns. Creates and prepares journal entries for taxes.
Assist with tax software integration, report reconcilements and report writing.
Performs periodic assessments of internal controls related to Sarbanes-Oxley 404 certification as it relates to income tax processes and coordinates with internal and external audit the testing of these controls. Identifies and communicates any tax process improvements.
Assists with the handling and responses to federal, state and local tax notices in a timely manner.
Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.
