Tax Staff Accountant

Direct hire opening with our client for a Tax Staff Accountant. Open to someone working from home if located in Pittsburgh, PA area (in order to come in to office located on south side as needed).
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance and at least 2 years of experience specifically in sales tax. Experience with ERP systems, particularly Great Plains or Microsoft Dynamics, is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file sales tax returns accurately and timely.
• Assist in the review and analysis of tax data to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Research and interpret tax laws and regulations to ensure adherence to relevant guidelines.
• Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary information for tax filings.
• Assist with tax audits and inquiries as needed.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date tax records and documentation.
• Provide support to senior members of the tax team on various projects and initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in sales tax.
• Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations.
• Experience with ERP systems; Great Plains or Microsoft Dynamics preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
