Tasting Room / Hospitality Associate

We are looking for individuals with a passion for wine and hospitality in the Finger Lakes region. We are seeking wine professionals that share our passion for Riesling. This role is well suited to individuals with a talent for hospitality and enjoy engaging with others.

THE COMPANY

Hillick & Hobbs Estate is the newest of many wineries founded by renowned winemaker Paul Hobbs. Hillick & Hobbs is dedicated to crafting world-class Riesling. The estate vineyard is planted to 25-acres of high-density Riesling. The estate boasts panoramic views of Seneca Lake and accepts reservations for tastings, tours, and wines by the glass or bottle.

Position: Hospitality Associate

Specific qualifications & skills:

• Wine & food service: Comprehensive knowledge of wine and the wine industry including its history, making, and direct-to-consumer evolution. Industry certifications (CMS, WSET, etc.) are preferred, but not required.
• Communication: Able to communicate effectively and efficiently. Outgoing style with demonstrated skills building long-term relationships with consumers, businesses, and the community.
• Attitude: Cheerful, positive, considerate, creative, competitive, professional demeanor. Must have enthusiasm for Riesling and the Finger Lakes region.

Examples of responsibilities:

• Manage tasting reservations.
• Conduct wine tastings and vineyard tours in a professional, fun, and educated manner.
• Maintain the tasting environments by ensuring that they are inviting and appealing.
• Stock and prep food and inventory
• Promote winery events and activities and participate in on-property events as required.
• Represent HHE at local wine industry or related events as requested/appropriate.
• Ensure all sales and orders are promptly and accurately processed in the POS system.

Basic job qualifications & requirements:

• Tasting room or hospitality experience preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry at least 50 lbs., or a 9L case of wine.
• Weekends and holidays are required.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 32 per week
