Our family-owned Sonoma Valley Winery is seeking an energetic, motivated individual to join our team as a Tasting Room Sales Associate. The right candidate will grow with our current fun and energetic team. 1-2 days a week. Weekends required
Our Winery has been selling wine direct to our consumers for the last 35 years. We are a boutique, premium winery that produces 15,000 cases annually and have expanded to a brand-new 50,000 case facility. You cannot find our award-winning wines in any retail stores…only in our Tasting Room, through our popular wine club or in select bay-area restaurants.
Responsibilities:
- Take initiative for self-development in the areas of our wines, our brand, general hospitality, and for acquiring effective sales techniques and acumen.
- Promote wine sales and Wine Club signup objectives of the Tasting Room.
- Personally and confidently host guests of varied backgrounds and wine knowledge, in a variety of tasting settings. Must be able to conduct privately hosted, high-end experiences as well as seated, semi-hosted outdoor tastings, and bar tastings.
- Greet all visitors, conduct barrel tastings; describing wines, winemaking techniques, winery history and general tourist information
- Handle routine purchase transactions, including managing cash box and accounting of daily sales.
- Contribute to and maintain a positive, team-oriented work environment.
- Collaborate with management to establish, monitor, and achieve Tasting Room goals and metrics by developing innovative ways to drive sales, club signups and customer satisfaction.
- Stock wine, wash and polish glassware for Tasting Room.
- Clean and set up Tasting Room and other public areas to insure optimum guest experience.
- Participate and assist with special hospitality events that occur at our new winery.
- Assist with display and pricing of retail items and wines as needed.
- Additional tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional personal presentation.
- Sales experience a plus.
- Well-rounded organizational skills with proficiency in understanding and executing instructions
- Able to act independently to solve problems as they occur and implement corrective actions
- Active ability to multi-task and adapt to shifting priorities
- Proficient with POS systems, Excel, Outlook, etc.; social media and creative writing skills a plus
- Must be able to work weekends as job requires
- Must be able to lift 40lbs and stand for multiple hours.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
