Position Summary:
The Task Force Engineering Manager/Trainer (EMT) is responsible for implementing safety and emergency standard operating procedures while ensuringvarious operating systems, brand standards, and department standard operating procedures are maintained. Ensuring constant communication with GM, Regional DOE and Corporate DOE of task and or projects progress and completion, along with site activities, challenges, and suggestions. Training the engineering team when required and partnering with the Executive Committee team to lead the properties to 5 Drivers success.
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily walk-throughs and visually assess the site and ensure the efficiency of maintenance and operation of the hotel structure, systems, and equipment.
- Provide onboarding and ongoing support to all Engineering Leaders
- Establish and maintain Rooms and Public Area Preventive Maintenance Program and assure records are being maintained per Remington standards.
- Purchase engineering supplies in accordance with budgeted levels to maintain inventories.
- Create department schedules that are consistent with guest service demands and asset management.
- Work and coordinate all repair and maintenance activities, as needed, with 3rd party vendors.
- Share best practices and leverage corporate and regional resources.
- Ensure accurate and consistent application of all company policies and procedures and related local, state, and federal laws.
- Verify all permits and licenses for building and physical plant are current.
- Work in a cooperative and friendly manner with fellow associates.
- Practice a culture of guest service in all you do; promote courtesy, good will, and a positive attitude in each encounter.
- Perform any reasonable request as assigned or directed by General Manager and DVP of Operations

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:
- Minimum 5 years’ previous engineering management experience with a proved history of training and leading engineering teams, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Minimum 2 years’ post high school education (Trade school or Assoc. Degree)
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical building systems, engineering, electrical, plumbing, commercial kitchen, and general building construction.
- Demonstrated experience and skill with critical thinking and problem solving.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a strong team of hospitality professionals.
- Required to travel to properties and be deployed for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Suite
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to take initiative and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- May be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs.
- Must possess basic computational ability.
- Focus and maintain attention to tasks, and complete work assignments on time despite frequent interruptions.
- Ability to maintain excellent relationships with associates and work across departments to foster cooperation.
- Ability to converse calmly with upset associates, superiors, and guests in intense emotional situations.
- Ability to participate in, and at times lead departmental and/or hotel team meetings
Physical Requirements:
- Sit, stand, and walk for varying lengths of time.
- Lift approximately fifteen (15) pounds
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, pulling, pushing, listening, and hearing ability and visual ability
- Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, multi-line tone tone phone, filing cabinets, photocopiers and other office equipment as needed.
- Required to travel to locations within the Remington portfolio for extended periods of time and assist and or execute special projects
