StoneTurn is seeking a qualified Talent Manager responsible for Staffing/Resourcing and Training & Development to join our team.
Job Summary
In this role, you will be the manager of our firmwide staffing and resourcing process serving as the main point of contact for all client service project requests. You’ll be responsible for assigning team members to new and existing projects as needs arise based on their skillsets and capabilities. You will also leverage your insight into employee performance to identify and implement professional development opportunities for our professionals.
We are looking for a high-energy, well-organized team player with superior written and verbal communications skills. This role requires you to influence executives and senior management, demonstrate professionalism, multi-task and work in a high-growth, fast-paced environment. This position will interact closely with all levels of management and staff. This role reports to the chief of staff and works closely with Human Resources and Talent Acquisition
Key Responsibilities
Staffing and resourcing
- Proactive and strategic management of firmwide staffing matrix for 100+ client service employees globally
- Facilitate regular check-ins with engagement managers to forecast project needs, effectively assign employees based on skillsets and availability to fulfill client needs and meet objectives
- Understand and assess variances in time reporting on a real-time basis, reassigning professionals to other projects around the firm
- Maintain knowledge of individual’s skillsets leveraging Salesforce talent profiles
- Oversight of cross-training and cross-office staffing opportunities
- Identify and implement improvements to the staffing process to maximize revenue while maintaining firm culture dedicated to the overall success of our professionals
- Liaise between Partners and Human Resources to ensure compliance when staffing opportunities arise outside applicable jurisdiction
- Regular communication with senior management and talent acquisition to identify skills gaps and incremental needs (temporary and permanent) assisting in defining recruitment strategy
Reporting
- Review and reconcile staffing projections versus actual utilization, explaining variances
- Discuss large or recurring variances with engagement managers and Partners to pinpoint the cause and brainstorm ways to remedy future discrepancies (i.e., underutilization)
- Collect, analyze, and maintain data to inform targeted leadership development (e.g., succession planning)
- Collaborate with Marketing and Data Analytics teams to best leverage Salesforce data on skillsets, talent profiles, and project metrics
Training & Development
- Collaborate with Human Resources to create and implement programs and initiatives related to the development of client service professionals, both at the group and individual level across the firm
- Maintain understanding of an individual’s career goals to align with firm needs, creating opportunities for professional development and growth
- Identify and encourage cross-training opportunities for employees across various service lines
Qualifications
- BA/BS Business Management, HR or similar degree
- 5+ years of relatable experience, preferable more than three directly in staffing and resourcing.
- Excellent written and verbal communications, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate and influence all organizational levels through demonstrating gravitas and positive and productive working relationships
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, to manage and resolve conflict, to handle difficult situations in a professional and tactful manner
- Must have excellent follow-through skills and strong attention to detail
- Experience working in a fast paced, deadline driven work environment
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proactive approach towards processes and systems
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Salesforce
