Human Resources is staffed with 30 employees.
Reporting to the Manager, Talent Acquisition, the Talent Acquisition Coordinator will perform professional and administrative duties in support of the Human Resources recruitment function including: coordinating and participating in recruitment and new employee orientation, performing data analysis, and providing applicant support.
The primary duties include: Assist recruitment team with full cycle recruitment activities including posting vacancies on Metra's website, LinkedIn, and targeted recruitment sites; sourcing and pre-screening resumes to assess candidate qualifications for posted positions; and coordinating and scheduling interviews, physical examines, and testing. Prepare a variety of recruitment related reports from resources including the Applicant Tracking System, HRIS databases, and websites. Monitor the hiring process through the applicant tracking system, informing applicants of their status, notifying recruiters of next steps, and resolving issues that arise. Participate in the new hire orientation process by ensuring applicants provide required pre-employment document, reviewing documents for proper authorizations, coordinating and scheduling orientation sessions, responding to inquiries, and providing general information of agency personnel policies. Attend and participate in job fairs, community activities, and other recruitment-related events to network with potential applicants and facilitate brand awareness. Assist with auditing contract positions that follow the lottery process.Perform other related duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
Final salary will be determined in part by the qualifications of the selected candidate.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or in lieu of specified degree, experience may be substituted for the degree that equals four years in Human Resources.
- In addition to #1 above, must have a minimum of two years of human resources experience.
- Knowledge of Human Resources practices and principles.
- Knowledge of recruitment practices.
- Knowledge of state and federal labor laws.
- Good organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills.
- Good verbal and writing communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
- Proficient in MS Excel skills including vlookup, formulas and pivot tables.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments with attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to work and safeguard sensitive information while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Must be willing to travel within Metra’s 6-county region.
- Must be available to work flexible hours in the early morning, late afternoon, evenings, or weekends.
