Position Summary Information
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and two years of progressively responsible professional human resources management experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be from appropriately accredited institutions.

  • Experience working with or supporting faculty recruitment and retention within a university setting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Talent Acquisition Consultant for Academic Affairs (Faculty) is a hands-on strategic partner to the App State Academic Affairs and faculty community who will intentionally drive recruiting and retention initiatives to recruit a highly talented workforce in support of advancing the mission, vision, and goals of the university.
  • Collaboration within the Human Resources Unit: This position collaborates with the Human Resources Employment Team, determining recommendations in changes of procedures and work assignments to improve its efficiency and effectiveness; administers effective strategies to enhance our partnerships on campus in the search process to ensure proper procedures, equitable searches, and timely processes.

  • Collaboration within the Academic Affairs Unit: This position collaborates with the Academic Affairs Division determining recommendations in changes of practices and processes to streamline the recruitment, position management, hiring, and contracting efforts.

  • New Hires in Assigned Areas: This position initiates background check orders; develops and maintains an onboarding process for new faculty as well as high-level Academic Affairs positions, i.e., deans; generates periodic reports of new hires and emeriti faculty to share with key partners (Academic Affairs, etc.).

  • Employer Branding: This position will support the development of a website designated for prospective applicants and employees to promote talent attraction and employee engagement.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position
  • Serves as a support role to all units and constituents of Academic Affairs on faculty search functions.
  • Fields calls from Academic Affairs constituents regarding all things "HR".
  • Oversees faculty contracting, assists with contract creation and routing for Faculty and Staff within Academic Affairs, and maintains personnel files.
  • Promotes available faculty job opportunities through advertisements, networking, postings on web pages, etc.
  • Possesses experience in applicant tracking and position management systems or comparable software platforms.
  • Assists hiring departments in setting up faculty adjunct pools.
  • Possesses the ability to understand and maintain compliance with policy pertinent to faculty (ex: Out of State hiring tracking);
  • Advises and consults with a diverse workforce in a professional manner and maintains confidentiality;
  • Possesses demonstrated excellent communication, collaboration, and customer service skills;
  • Prioritizes work to meet deadlines;
  • Maintains a high level of integrity, independence, and participation in policy, service, and/or program development
