PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Systems Security Specialist - Intermediate partners with internal business and technical teams to:
- Maintain policies and procedures to prevent unauthorized access.
- Maintain and implement changes to enhance Systems Security and prevent unauthorized activity.
- Research security and technology trends, new methods and techniques used in unauthorized access of data to preemptively eliminate the possibility of a system breach.
- Monitor, evaluate, and maintain systems and procedures to safeguard internal information systems, networks, databases, and web-based security.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and monitor systems, networks, databases, and the web for potential system breaches.
- Assist in the remediation of vulnerabilities.
- Respond to alerts from information security tools.
- Report, investigate and resolve security incidents.
- Educate and communicate security requirements and procedures to all users and new employees.
- Recommend and implement changes to enhance Systems Security and prevent unauthorized access.
- Monitor compliance with regulations and privacy laws.
- Provide tier II support as needed.
- Participate in an on-call rotation.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related area and 4+ years of relevant experience.
- Moderate skills and proficiency in MS Office tools, including MS/O365.
- Moderate skills and proficiency in AWS.
- Experience with DevSecOps principles.
- Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM).
- Excellent technical and non-technical, written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with code and script writing.
- Experience with Cloud (AWS and Azure) infrastructure networking and security.
- Risk Management and threat modeling principles.
- Ability to work successfully in both individual and team settings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from internal technology members and clients as needed.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
- Excellent organization and communication skills.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret various technical instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
- Demonstrated success in the ability to understand both business and information technology.
- Industry certifications.

Reflected below is the base salary range offered for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors including but not limited to academic achievements, skills and experience. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
- $89,000 - $149,500
