Job Description:
KEY DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designing, installing, configuring, and managing across the technology lifecycle, but not limited to the following technologies:
- AWS
- Information Security
- Apache Tomcat, WildFly, WebLogic Application Servers
- Microsoft SQL
- Microsoft IIS
- Windows Server 2012/2016/2019/2022
- Windows 10/11
- Virtualized Platforms - HyperV
- Scripting (Powershell, Powercli and others)
- AD, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP
- Storage
- Veeam
- Cisco/Dell enterprise switches
- Installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of equivant developed software applications.
- Proactively manage and monitor the infrastructure platforms, performing periodic health checks, upgrades, patches, firmware updates, and maintenance as required.
- Perform SQL backups, restore and performance troubleshooting.
- Monitor the ticketing system and provide expert support for 2nd and/or 3rd level support.
- Ensure that hardware is adequately sized and configured; conduct capacity planning scenarios to meet future needs.
- Managing competing priorities to ensure any critical issues are addressed promptly thereby reducing inconvenience caused to users.
- Create, develop, and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure the protection of the organization's data and systems as specified by ISO 27001/CJIS/NIST control frameworks.
- Perform and ensure server hardening standards are in place based on industry defined security best practices.
- Establish and maintain documentation and standards. Understand and maintain service management strategies that align with the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science information technology
- Industry certifications in one or more of the following:
- AWS - Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, Security
- Microsoft - MCSE Server Infrastructure certification
- Cisco - CCNA Routing and Switching certification (nice to have)
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Microsoft environment (AD, GPO)
- Minimum 2 years of experience with MS SQL and MS IIS
- Experience with designing and building cloud solutions on AWS / Azure.
- Hands on installation, configuration, and administration of a broad range of infrastructure platforms - virtualized server/compute systems, high availability and disaster recovery designs, network and security integration, storage infrastructure, and operational tools.
- Demonstrating technical design and implementation capabilities for hybrid cloud, compute, and shared storage platforms in an enterprise environment.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with Dell technology (server, storage, and switches) and Cisco Enterprise switches and firewalls.
- Ability to manage and maintain systems in a data center setting.
- Operating in a 24/7 uptime requirement environment.
- Familiarity with ISO 27001/CJIS/NIST frameworks are considered an asset.

OTHER
- The IT Support Services members may also provide on-call, after hours and weekend support as per a rotational schedule.
- Occasional lifting of computer equipment.
- Occasional travel for business may be needed, < 5%.
