About this Position:
This role is responsible to lead a small team as AF GALC Traceability lead in the configuration and setup of complex parts scans, vehicle data retention, and quality control. This role requires collaborating with multiple groups and divisions to assure proper part masking and traceability data for each vehicle is properly stored and received within our system in order to meet or exceed customer expectations while balancing vehicle safety and quality. Responsibilities may include confirmations of traceability data for compliance, Equipment model type configurations, Equipment and Torque Tool parameter configurations, and scan station project management. Additional responsibilities may include researching & implementing new technologies for future manufacturing applications and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide project leadership by establishing schedule, deliverables, priorities, etc. for a team of Systems Engineers within the parts traceability area.
- Provide technical expertise, guidance, and mentoring to less experienced engineers.
- Lead part and vehicle traceability activities within AF, setting station completion targets and confirming configurations to achieve requirements.
- Communicate and share information with internal Honda contacts including ADC Tech, ADC Process, New Model, and other Honda factories
- Support part and vehicle verification, including developing countermeasures as necessary.
- Estimate new station and traceability costs for New Model and Design Change implementations including review of supplier quotes, project funding, and PO submissions
Who we are seeking:
Required Experience:
- 5+ years of experience based on education
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent related experience
Other job specific skills:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
- Knowledge of Assembly Mfg environment
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Controls
- Project Management Skills
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Ability to communicate clearly to multiple layers of management
- Programming knowledge
Additional Position Factors:
- Manufacturing environment where able to physically perform jobs on the assembly line. (Lifting >10lbs, walking/standing 8 hrs/day, etc)
- Flexibility to work different shifts
- Work OT as requested (<5 hours/week)
- Travel 1-4 trips/year both domestic and international
