Job Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer - Command and Control (C2) with a background in satellite Command and Control to work alongside senior engineers on multiple programs. Command and Control is the foundation for future large interoperable constellations that will bring novel and exciting capabilities to our customers. The C2 SE is at the forefront of enabling new ideas in automation, human machine interface, artificial intelligence and machine learning to help maintain peak performance and efficiency of the satellites. The candidate should be able to come up to speed on program specifics, and learn interfaces between C2, Mission Management and Processing. The candidate should have some experience with Systems Engineering in respect to requirements, interfaces, system decomposition, integration and test on a large government software development program and general Systems Engineering lifecycles. Experience with modern Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) resources would be helpful (ex. Cameo). Engineers that are interested in big picture (architecture) and/or detailed design are all welcome.
As the Systems Engineer – C2 you will be providing engineering support to develop and improve an advanced satellite ground system. In addition to working with other Engineering disciplines, you will be exposed to various technologies including multi-tiered architectures, Amazon Web Services and numerous program specific operational tools.
Our Program follows modern Agile / DevOps development practices utilizing an agile framework and we provide extensive and easy-to-use resources for reporting status and estimates to your Agile team leadership - meaning more time for true problem solving. Our small Agile teams adapt to evolving problem sets, and Engineers benefit from a flexible work environment where Engineers can migrate between teams to contribute to new domains.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Learn established C2 systems such that they can be springboards for new systems.
Pioneer new ideas into C2 systems to help reduce manning, command larger constellations, implement automation principles, and enable improved efficiency.
Design a requirements compliant C2 System; manage the C2 interfaces.
Oversee C2 SW development to ensure requirements are satisfied.
Supporting continuous integration/continuous delivery development principles
Assist integration in troubleshooting C2 application issues and facilitating defects to closure
Work Location: This position is an onsite role at our Aurora, CO (Denver area) campus
Basic Qualifications:
Systems engineering lifecycle experience
Experience in Satellite Command/Control or related fields
Systems Engineering experience on a large government software development contract
Candidates demonstrating a deep interest to learn can overcome gaps in past experience qualifications
An active Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) Security Clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience.
Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics(STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior
relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Development experience on a large software government contract
Familiarity with Agile and DevSecOps development methods
Experience in Agile software development
Understanding of automation techniques
Experience in test verification of requirements
Experience with integration and test procedures and plans
Experience working in a multi-discipline environment

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
