About this Role:
Responsible for Windows and Linux based network infrastructure including Active Directory Domain Services, DFS, DNS, DHCP, Azure Cloud Site Recovery Services, VMware Failover Cluster Services, IIS, Group Policy, and Automox Patch Management. Performance upgrades of all software and hardware, installation of servers, configuring systems, and to ensure all technical aspects are operational to end users. Specifics include the ability to integrate networks and systems in a harmonious environment that includes Azure Cloud Services, automation, scripting, security, backup, restoration procedures, and integrate mobile device services to the network voice segments. Responsible for providing hardware and network upgrades to improve and enhance our system infrastructure and vulnerabilities. Provide Visio system and network diagrams that illustrate current and incremental enhancements during each phase. Build and implement new systems as well as overseeing system migration and operational support on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Windows, and VMware ESXi systems. Collaborate with the network team with integration and procedures to several subsystem devices within the Enterprise Network and Systems infrastructure including Azure Cloud Services.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the senior systems administrator in maintaining virtual environments including Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Hyper-V, and vSphere 7x environments, consisting of 100+ virtual machines.
- Assist the IT systems team in planning and designing growth of virtualization platforms, including SAN technologies, iSCSI (HP storage)
- Monitor/maintain/troubleshoot performance of physical hosts, virtual machines, and storage. Be able to identify source of performance problems and provide solutions for remediation.
- Assist in development and executing disaster recovery procedures for both Azure and data centers.
- Work alongside the network team to enhance network and system infrastructure.
- Monitor and ensure system backups complete without any errors. Validate backups on a regular basis.
- Maintain a Windows-based network infrastructure including Active Directory Domain Services, DFS, DNS, DHCP, Failover Cluster Services, IIS, Group Policy, and Automox Patch Manager.
- Utilizing network/datacenter monitoring tools (SolarWinds Orion) to analyze network, server, and storage devices, maintain up-time, generate usage reports, and spot trends.
- Contribute with ongoing vulnerabilities that require daily attention due to cyber security standards and procedures. This requires constant work and maintenance.
- Contribute with our Patch Management System – Automox. This requires scripting with worklets.
- Provide Linux administration assistance in the area with Docker, Kubernetes, RHEL configuration, and SQL server administration.
- Provide backup for the following duties such as Cloud Flare, FTP administration, Linux, and Azure Cloud Services.
- Azure- AD, Permissions, Enterprise apps, VM administration, Dora, Azure Dev Ops, Various other Apps as a service that we plan to leverage in the future.
- Manage and maintain Cisco Unified Communications Manager (Call Manager), Unity, CIMP, and Expressway
- Provide day-to-day user support activities as needed.
- Pager Duty to improve alerting and escalation with Incident management. Maintaining this would require significant effort from the team. (maintaining schedules for specific devices etc.)
- Improve and maintain terminal services – Remote desktop, remote applications.
- ADFS Deployment – Federated services on prem allows for SAML authentication for our various sites and systems (LastPass, web expenses, other systems).
- Contribute to the DNS Security Module for DNS. This allows users to sign their zones with keys.
- Implement a new system for server deployment infrastructure such as Teraform, Puppet, chef, and salt stack.
Who you are:
- 5-8 years in enterprise systems infrastructure, preferably HP storage and Cisco networks
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, facilitation, oral and written communication skills
- Ability to lead in troubleshooting of complex issues.
- Experience with enterprise Storage Area Networks, HP’s Nimble and Virtual Storage
- Experience hosting tier-1 applications in a virtual environment
- Experience with Linux and Window Server environments
- Strong experience in high availability implementations and disaster recovery experience.
- Strong understanding of IIS configuration and performance tuning
- Experience with scripting tools like PowerShell
- A willingness to be flexible is a must. You will be working in a fast-paced environment.
- Leadership skills to mentor junior staff
- Ability to work with and coordinate system activities with various vendors.
- Certifications a plus, especially Microsoft and VMware

Location: Please note this is a hybrid role – Rye, NY
Pay Range: $90,000 - $115,000
