Job description

Have you ever wanted to be part of a team who is building industry changing technology? Amazon's Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband network connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
In Project Kuiper Enterprise Technology, we build the software, services, and infrastructure that enable our program to design and engineer the future of LEO Satellite based broadband services. Our team succeeds when the entire Project Kuiper organization can scale as needed to be successful.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Identity System Development Engineer to join our team. As an Identity System Develop Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our organization's identity systems, including products like Active Directory and Okta. In addition, you will contribute to system development and DevOps practices to ensure secure and efficient Access Management. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate identity systems, develop custom solutions, and automate processes. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of identity systems, strong system development skills, DevOps expertise, and a passion for maintaining robust access control.
Key job responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage identity systems, such as Active Directory and Okta, to support secure Access Management across the organization.
- Develop custom solutions and integrations to enhance identity system capabilities and meet specific business requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Integrate identity systems with other applications and services, using protocols such as SAML and OIDC.
- Implement system development best practices, including version control, code review, and automated testing, to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Apply DevOps principles and practices to streamline identity system deployment, configuration, and maintenance.
- Automate identity system processes and workflows using scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
- Monitor system performance, conduct regular audits, and implement necessary optimizations to enhance system efficiency and security.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies in Identity and Access Management, system development, and DevOps.
- Provide technical guidance and support to cross-functional teams and end-users regarding identity system-related queries.
- Participate in incident response activities, including investigating and resolving security incidents related to identity systems.
Export Control Requirements: Due to the need to access certain federal controlled information, you must be a U.S. citizen for consideration.
A day in the life
As part of Kuiper Enterprise Technology IAM team you will further deepen your technical expertise and proficiency in distributed software design, navigate operational challenges of a highly available system under load, and hone your skills as a leader and communicator. You will collaborate with and learn from some of the strongest software, security and infrastructure engineers in the industry, and leverage Amazon's ample resources to innovate on behalf of our customers.
This is an excellent opportunity to join Amazon's world class technical team. While you will come to our team with your own diverse experience, you will have the ability to further develop your skills and grow your career within one of our most innovative programs. Our ideal candidate is highly autonomous, possesses strong communication skills and has project management experience. You should expect to work in a fast paced, highly collaborative environment
