Position Summary
Thales is looking for a Systems Architect to fill the role of ATC Systems Architect where you will play a vital role in providing technical leadership and oversight necessary to evolve our technological platform.
In this position, you will be responsible for the technical leadership and oversight necessary to advance our technological platform. Your main focus will be to support the establishment and formalization of a software-as-a-service offering, specifically deploying a Micro-Services architecture platform to serve customers both in the US and globally. Additionally, as the ATC Systems Architect, you will work closely with the technical design authority, taking their guidance into account and regularly reporting on technical status and risks. You will also provide support to adjacent Thales businesses in developing capture strategies and offering technical expertise when needed. To excel in this role, you should have training, knowledge, and experience in complex systems engineering and integration. You should be familiar with the system engineering process and capable of ensuring solution compliance for bids, projects, or product development phases. As the Project Design Authority (PDA), it will be your responsibility to define the solution that achieves full compliance within the project's budget and schedule constraints, while also proposing the best trade-offs aligned with the product line policy. Key Areas of Responsibility
- Develop Solution Architecture by Understanding Context and Needs.
- Ensures the solution is in compliance with Product Policy, production/services strategies, contractual requirements & regulations (i.e. export restrictions, Environmental/HSE, safety, security).
- Reviews together with the system engineering manager (SEM) all technical risks and opportunities and the related mitigation plans throughout the bid or project.
- Prepares and signs the Design Validation (DVa) document at each relevant validation step of the Bid and/or the Project, and ensures that the DVa is approved and signed by the DA.
- Reviews and approves the completion of the integration, verification, validation and qualification results.
- Organizes when appropriate technical meetings and peer reviews together with the DA and the SEM and other stakeholders (industry, services, Safety & HSE, specialties), in order to perform the solution technical assessment and validation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering or a similar field of study with a minimum of 15+ years of relevant work experience or, or a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in leading multidisciplinary engineering teams, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with Design Assurance Standards as they relate to System Safety. Knowledge and experience in the area of complex systems engineering and integration.
- Familiarity and experience with the system engineering process and with supporting complex projects/programs with multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Agile development process. Excellent communication skills. Good organizational and time management skills. Sense of quality and attention to detail.
- Must be a US Person as defined in applicable law.
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined in applicable law, or otherwise authorized or eligible for authorization, to access to hardware, software, technology or technical data controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

- Travel: US and to Europe periodically is preferred, approximately 10% travel anticipated annually
