Position Description
Responsible for network and data integrity of all information stored on the Department’s servers. Managing multiple complex systems, planning, organizing, monitoring, and supporting server operations. Performs Network Administration as needed daily. Works closely with Desktop Support staff and members of ITC to ensure the maximum uptime for the Sheriff’s Office data center. Coordinates and resolves technical issues and works with vendors for server hardware and/or services. Has frequent access to confidential information. Works overtime and participates in an on-call roster as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Train users on how to utilize their computer systems appropriately.
- Writing instruction manuals for systems.
- Consulting with managers/supervisors and staff to determine what role the systems play in the agency's business model.
- Testing the systems regularly to ensure quality and function.
- Preparing costs and benefits analysis on systems.
- Brainstorming new ways to add more functionality to systems.
- Choosing and configuring the hardware and software of a system. Implement & maintain cloud systems (Microsoft Azure or AWS cloud services).
- Administer the Office365 account structure and creation/maintenance of O365 accounts.
- Assist in the administration of the HCSO Domain infrastructure and maintenance.
- Assist in webserver/database server administration.
- Perform additional duties as required by a supervisor.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- 3 years of Microsoft AD/Exchange OR
- o 1 year of Office 365 Support
- 7 years of IT support

- Proficient with report writing skills and communicating effectively.
- Strong communication – both written and verbal.

- Maintain accurate electronic documentation of daily records.
- Excellent time management skills and effective prioritization and scheduling of multiple tasks/initiatives.

- Highly proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite ( Word, Excel, Outlook ) and Adobe with the ability to learn new software and become proficient shortly after training.

Preferences
- Previous experience with Microsoft applications/Domain Administration/Office365 Administration.
- Software: MS Office, MS Visio, MS Project, Adobe Creative Suite, Visual Studio, Loftware, Crystal Reports, Arc GIS, Qvera Interface Engine.
General Information
This is a full-time position
Salary:
- Paid biweekly based on 26 pay periods per year, plus benefits
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Demands
This role is sedentary, however, the ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds is necessary to lift files and/or boxes of files, documents, etc.
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work
- This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours may vary based on the business needs of the department.
