Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced System Engineer with expertise in systems integration, data management and platform support to join our IT team. As a System Engineer, you will play a critical role in providing platform support for Flexera Data Platform and managing integration with FAA data sources.
Responsibilities
- Platform Maintenance
- Coordinate with the FAA Office of Information & Technology (AIT) to support maintenance activities such as monthly patching of servers and relational database management systems in the FAA datacenters and FAA Cloud as it pertains to Flexera Data Platform.
- Apply perform validation testing of monthly patches and quarterly upgrades to the Flexera Data Platform.
- Maintain Windows Server 16 server configurations.
- Perform the following checks to ensure Flexera Data Platform remains stable
- Validate daily the incoming inventory sources, (Big Fix, Tanium, Belarc). Work with the system administrators of integrated data sources to troubleshoot issues with system-to-system communication as it arises.
- Run the data normalization process and other data processing including MyProfile and Active Directory mash-up.
- Validate that Flexera is properly feeding data to other FAA data sources.
- Review system logs for any anomalous behavior and troubleshoot as needed.
- Work with the vendor to address and fix technical issues.
- Run, assess, and distribute Flexera reports on a regular basis including:
- Normalized Hardware & Software Reports
- Unmatched Report
- Log Analysis Reports
- User Rights Report
- Integration with other FAA Data Sources:
- Provide guidance and support for integration with Service Now and other FAA data sources identified in the future.
- Security Assessment Support:
- Maintain security documentation including System Impact Analysis, System Characterization Documents, Memorandums of Understanding, Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) for vulnerability scan remediation, and other documents needed as part of FAA's annual security assessment process to maintain Authority to Operate.
- Manage User Access:
- Add, update and remove user access to Flexera Data Platform.
- Maintain user training material and support documentation on Atlassian Confluence-based wiki.
Skills and Qualifications
- Technical expertise using MS SQL Server, MS Access, MS Excel, Visual Basic for Applications (VB 6.0), and C# programmin0g language.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex data migration challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple data migration projects and priorities.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 15+ years of experience
Requirements
- US Citizenship is required.
- Candidate must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance.
- This position is currently remote but it may change to hybrid (remote/onsite) in the future due to government requirement.
