Responsibilities: 

1. Systems Management: 

• Administer and maintain Windows-based servers (with a basic understanding of Linux as well), ensuring their optimal performance, security, and reliability. 

• Install, configure, and update operating systems and software applications on Windows servers. 

1. Backups and Data Retention: 

• Implement and manage backup solutions to ensure data integrity and availability. 
• Develop and maintain backup and recovery procedures for critical systems and data. 
• Monitor backup jobs, troubleshoot issues, and perform data restoration when necessary. 

1. Network and Server Setups: 

• Design, configure, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN connections. 
• Set up and manage virtual and physical servers, ensuring seamless operation and resource optimization. 
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and optimize network configurations for maximum efficiency. 

1. Understanding of Web/Server Technology: 

• Possess a strong understanding of web/server technologies, including web servers (e.g., Apache, IIS), database servers (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server), and related protocols (HTTP/HTTPS, FTP). 
• Collaborate with web developers and application teams to deploy and maintain web applications, ensuring high availability and security. 

1. Security and Compliance: 

• Work closely with the Security Team to implement and enforce security best practices, including user authentication, access control, and encryption protocols. 
• Stay up-to-date with industry security trends and vulnerabilities, proactively addressing potential security risks. 

• Ensure systems and processes comply with relevant regulations and standards, such as GDPR, HIPAA, or industry-specific requirements. 

1. Documentation and Training: 

• Create and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. 
• Provide training and support to end-users and other team members as needed. 

1. Collaboration and Communication: 

• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and optimize system performance. 
• Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly and concisely.
