About the Role
As a Systems Administrator at Govplace, you will use your technical knowledge and superior customer service skills to deliver exceptional support to internal and external customers. You will engage directly with end users and outsourced solution providers to ensure all proactive and reactive measures are taken to provide systems and services that are secure, reliable, and enable a positive user experience. Your experience will position you as the go-to resource for all internal IT requests. (Remote work is accepted for this position.)
Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and optimize infrastructure including servers, networking equipment, and Cloud services.
- Ensure adequate security by implementing best practices, security policies and access controls.
- Monitor system performance and take proactive measures to ensure optimal functionality.
- Provide technical support to end users addressing hardware, software, and network related issues.
- Maintain accurate records of support tickets and resolutions.
- Create and update user friendly documentation for common procedures and training.
- Provide Inventory Management and asset tracking.
- Stay current with security threats and participate in security awareness training initiatives.
- Participate in Change Management practices and effectively communicate risks to leadership.
- Procure, configure, install, and maintain workstation hardware and software applications.
- Implement and maintain security measures, backup procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
- Assist with the design and maintenance of the Govplace solution design center.
- Assist in compliance efforts including ISO, CMMC, and other industry frameworks.
- Obtain Govplace required OEM certifications as needed.
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3+ years of experience in Systems Administration.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems.
- Experience and understanding of wide variety of technologies including (Cloud, Network, and Security).
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- At least one of the following certifications: AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS Solutions Architect, CCNA, MCSE, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, and have interest and dedication to pursuing additional certifications.
- Demonstrate the following traits/characteristics – humility, drive, initiative, discretion, accountability, and team player spirit.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- This position may be remote with regular travel to the DC/Baltimore/Virginia area.
Work authorization/security clearance requirements
- The ability to obtain a security clearance is required for this role.
Great to Have
- Experience with CMMC and ISO 27001 framework
- Experience in Federal IT support
- Experience supporting Mac devices
- Additional Cloud, Cyber Security, or Infrastructure certifications
- Ability to teach or train small groups.
