In this position you will work at NASA Ames Research Center located at Moffett Field, CA on a hybrid basis - likely 3 days/week. As a Systems Engineer/Administrator you will be a part of a 20-person team that supports world class supercomputers with a specialization in developing new tools for automation, monitoring and metrics reporting on large-scale HPC clusters. In addition to systems administration and related operational tasks, you will help develop and maintain systems monitoring tools in support of the supercomputing team
To qualify for this exciting opportunity, you should possess a BS/BA degree and 1-5 years of experience (or additional experience in lieu of degree) in the following:
- Python OR BASH OR Perl scripting - advanced level
- Linux administration and OS programming
- Revision Control software Git, CVS, SVN, etc.)
- Working well with highly-skilled and large team
Desired Skills:
- Development of monitoring tools – Nagios (or related IT infrastructure monitoring SW) and Ganglia
- Object-oriented programming language(s) – C/C++
- Experience with databases – My SQL, etc.
- High Performance Computing (HPC)

The salary range for this role is expected to be $90-126K.
