Systems Administrator III

Solarity is looking for a Systems Administrator III to join our team in Sioux Falls, SD or Springfield, MO. This position has the option to work remotely, but must be in close proximity to either our Sioux Falls or Springfield office for training, in office meetings, and other business needs. 

The Systems Administrator III position requires a well-rounded IT professional with a high level of experience in maintaining and supporting the integrity of the operating system environment and various computer systems. This position requires an individual who works well with teams and has great communication skills.  This position also requires an individual that has tremendous troubleshooting abilities.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop strategies for client/server implementations and assist with architecting the infrastructure required to support those strategies.
• Act as project lead in the review and implementation of new server and network systems, applications, and hardware including conducting capacity planning as needed.
• Coordinate and collaborate with business application stakeholders and operations staff to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of server and network infrastructure to meet business demands.
• Implement defined policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure server and network security.
• Provide an escalation point for other members of the IT Infrastructure team for issues regarding server resources and network connectivity issues; prioritize and respond to help desk tickets as appropriate.
• Plan and implement hardware and software upgrades, maintenance fixes, and vendor-supplied patches.
• Manage enterprise directory services and supporting server infrastructure.
• Manage security solutions including firewall, anti-virus, email security, and intrusion detection systems.
• Develop and maintain training materials and server/network configuration documentation.
• Ensure network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephone equipment, fax machines, and other network appliances.

• Manage all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, and UPSs.
• Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
• Monitor and test complete system performance and provide performance statistics and reports.
• Comply with Solarity's policies, procedures and guidelines.
• May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Four years of work experience in a technical analytical position responsible for managing multi-site networks and servers in a data center environment.
• Three or more years of work experience with VMware vSphere.
• At least a year of experience with Nimble storage and nimble storage arrays a plus.
• Strong experience with implementing and maintaining server hardware (including blade servers).
• Strong experience with Microsoft server operating systems and infrastructure services including Active Directory.
• Experience with client/server applications (preferably including IIS, SQL Server, Exchange, SharePoint, Dynamics CRM, and Great Plains).
• Experience with virtualization and server-based computing platforms including Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop, and VMware vSphere.
• Experience with shared storage technologies including SAN (fibre channel and iSCSI), NAS, and NFS.
• Extensive experience with network hardware and technologies including Cisco, Foundry, HP, and Dell switches and Cisco and Palo Alto firewalls/routers.
• Strong troubleshooting ability of current network hardware, protocols, and standards including VLANs, SNMP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, BGP, OSPF, HSRP, IP routing, and VPN (SSL and IPSec based).
• Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
• Demonstrated ability to automate daily work. Experience with system orchestration a plus.
• Highly self-motivated and directed with precise attention to detail.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
• Available to participating in an On-call rotation.
• Typical computer-related tools and software including screwdriver, cabling tools, etc.
