Summary
The Supply Chain Systems Technician will install, maintain, support, and monitor computer and/or communications hardware and software, or other electronic equipment, for Union and non-Union associates. This role delivers effective detection, isolation, and analysis of service interruptions and reduces problem reoccurrences.

Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for IT support for assigned site(s) and shift providing full support of systems for break/fix, install, moves, adds, changes and preventative maintenance.
- Responsible for a large WiFi environment supporting a large quantity of mobile devices used by Union Associates in a shop floor production environment
- Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on all computer, network or electronic equipment (including but not limited to RF Equipment, PC's Printers, WiFi Controllers, Switches, and wiring), making repairs or reporting information according to procedures via a ticketing system. May repair or replace defective parts and/or contact vendors to arrange for onsite and depot repairs. Perform maintenance of all phone and hardware equipment with support from Telecommunications Specialist
- Assemble, upgrade, configure and test computer hardware, software, mobile terminals, mobile and tabletop printers, and audiovisual equipment
- Provide technical support for Union and non-Union associates regarding hardware, software, network and telecommunication problems seeking to restore normal service operations as quickly as possible.
- Install, configure, and upgrade PC's, laptops and related equipment diagnosing and troubleshooting both common and unusual hardware and software problems, perform preventive maintenance on the organization's PC equipment, install required software patches and ensure the connectivity of PC's laptops, handhelds and other computing devices to both the local area network (LAN) and the wide area network (WAN), set up and maintain locally connected and networked printers
- Analyze and resolve any problems with the Iseries system and the network communications hardware supporting both LAN/WAN and Iseries traffic
- Solve all technology based problems that are reported in a timely manner. Analyze and identify system and process problems and trends to reduce the reoccurrence of a problem.
- Communicate timely status and all relevant project information to appropriate personnel via incident tracking and reporting software, logging all tasks and keeping all information up to date
- Support all facilities technically via travel and phone support as needed for coverage
Education
- Associate's Degree Required in Related Field
- Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in information systems or a related field preferred
- Certified in A+ hardware, A+ operating systems and Network+ certifications preferred
- CCENT and CCNA certifications preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of IT systems support for technical troubleshooting and diagnostics including the following:
- Experience with the most recent versions of Windows and Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook 2016 and Windows 7 and 10
- Previous experience with telephony systems.
- Demonstrated expertise in all types of laptops or desktops, telephones, cell phones and Audio Visual equipment, peripherals, and desktop infrastructure interfaces; expertise in desktop and laptop imaging and desktop software installation
- An understanding of infrastructure, security, and desktop interface to our infrastructure and the ability to correct any problems or work with vendors to correct any reported problem on these technology areas
- The ability to provide advanced support in configuring laptops and workstations to operate in a LAN environment as well as identifying, recommending, and installing software to operate under LANs
- The ability to determine if hardware problems require vendor dispatch for on-site service/repair
- Working knowledge of mobile cell phones such as Apple iPhones, iPads and Samsung Galaxy phones with the ability to configure, backup and swap out these devices
- Working knowledge of Voice over IP Desk and Virtual Telephones with a willingness to learn the telephony system and configuration process based on how Carhartt uses the system
- Working knowledge of A/V Audio Visual Equipment - such as Projectors, IP Connections and Cable Connected Display Systems such as Crestron or Surface Hubs
- Ability to work in a team environment
