Job Description Qualifications:
The Boeing Company is seeking a System Software Design Engineer to join our team within the Boeing Test & Evaluation in Long Beach, CA. This person will perform activities to develop, document and maintain simulation architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs.
The ideal candidate will also develop and maintain code and integration of complex software components into a fully functional software system. Experience in developing software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are desirable.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Entry-Level, and Associate Level Engineers.
Position Responsibilities:

• Supports requirements team lead in defining interfaces and software requirements as well as performing requirements change assessment
• Develop, document, and maintain computer software configuration item real-time software simulation modules.
• Develops and decomposes documents and maintains designs for a real-time software Computer Software Component (CSC) consistent with the defined architecture and requirements/regulations by applying established methods and practices.
• Participates in internal and external design and code walkthroughs reviews
• Develop software algorithms, build and integrate into final product including version releases.
• Uses analytical tools to verify design

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
• Programming experience in at least one or more of the following languages: C, C++, Ada, C#, Python, JAVA

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 2+ years of experience with full life-cycle software development, modeling, simulation, testing, and/or analysis using C, C++, C#, Python, Java, Ada, and/or Linux
• Experience using common software version control tools such as Git or ClearCase
• Experience with Real-time software development modules. Understands build and integration of engineering version releases
• Experience debugging and troubleshooting technical problems involving computer memory or timing considerations
• Experience designing test setups, writing test procedures, software for control and data acquisition systems, and conducting tests

Typical Education/Experience:
Entry Level (Level 1)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Associate (Level 2)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Relocation:

Summary pay range for Entry-Level (level 1): $70,550 - $95,450
Summary pay range for Associate (level 2): $85,850 - $116,150
