Job Responsibilities
As the System Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for the development, test, and integration of a phased array for a ground mobile radar application. Your responsibilities will include interfacing with the customer, ensuring we deliver a reliable system the meets the customer needs, integration of the phased array and associated equipment onto a large truck; ensuring the hardware and software is installable, and supportable; ensuring technical communication between internal teams, and suppliers; ensuring successful demonstrations and prototype installation.
In this role you will apply your project engineering and interpersonal skills to a multi-discipline engineering team with both verbal and written interactions between the customer, partners, and Viasat senior leadership
In addition, there is an opportunity to support business development to put this radar phased array on additional platforms and with different customers.

For United States-based jobs only: The pay range for this position is $133450 to $216200 annually; however, base pay may vary within this range depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Requirements
- 10+ years of experience
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical area
- Development Experience from concept to low-rate production
- Experience leading cross-functional teams with 5 or more Full-Time Equivalent (FTEs)
- Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with a strong sense of ownership and drive
- Present both technical and non-technical information that is clear, concise, and speaks to a wide audience
- Experience performing/leading system design reviews (e.g., SRR, SFR, PDR, CDR, TRR, PRR)
- Active Clearance or ability/desire to acquire clearance
- U.S. Citizenship Required
- Up to 10% domestic travel (additional travel maybe required if a candidate does not work from Tempe, AZ site)
Preferences
- Military Service or supported Dept of Defense programs
- Direct experience on RF systems that use Phased Array / Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) technologies
- Understand the basics of communication, radar, or EW systems (both hardware and software)
- Experience with integrating electronic equipment onto mobile platforms
- Product Engineering Experience
- Understanding of Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) techniques
