Summary of Role

Implementation of NSPS power plant SCADA solutions globally, including key designs, proposing new solutions, troubleshooting, procurement, and commissioning activities.

  • Design and implementation of SCADA systems that meet project requirements.
  • Configure and maintain SCADA systems.
  • Develop and implement protocols for data backup and disaster recovery.
  • Provide training and support to end-users.
  • Keep up to date with the latest developments in SCADA technology.


Duties and Responsibilities:

- Responsible and accountable for supporting and improving operational systems while ensuring high standards of availability, integrity, and functionality of the SCADA systems.

- Development, configuration, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance of various SCADA systems in conjunction with field supervisory equipment and personnel.

- Effectively leads the collaboration process with internal OT/IT Infrastructure, implementation of core infrastructure services used with NSPS OT/IT systems, Operation’s infrastructure improvements, maintenance, and support with additional focus on defining business and operational requirements in cybersecurity.

- Provides oversight in the development of Cybersecurity solutions, working closely with internal cybersecurity team by providing professional advice on designs, analysis, risk assessments in context of industry best practices, applicable policies, governance, monitoring methods and conducting cyber vulnerability assessments.

- Participates in providing innovative solutions that reduce IT/OT security risks to meet compliance of security industry standards such as NIST, NERC CIP, ICS.

The scope of work will focus on the three Engineering workstreams;

Service Agreement Support

  • Supporting field teams to meet O&M contract requirements within USA but not limited to
  • Supporting customer’s needs and requirements within our Sope of Work defined in our O&M agreement.
  • Support Business developers, review bid requirements, create offers and approve new contracts Scope of Work related to SCADA.

Infrastructure Support

  • Building and maintaining our operations technology environment within USA but not limited to

Extra Services

  • Working with internal and external customer(s) to determine specific project(s) opportunities, including group lead, engineering oversight, task management and implementation. Responsible for executing value added engineering services. This will require customer interaction and extensive engineering experience to implement solutions.

General Qualifications:

  • Accomplished user of Microsoft Office 365 suite of tools: Outlook, Excel, Power Point, SharePoint.
  • Communicate effectively in both verbal and written format in English.
  • Must be able to prioritize day to day work.
  • High attention to detail. Minimal mistakes in SCADA application configurations.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills • Microsoft Visio experience preferred.
  • Basic understanding of solar plant controllers, capacitor banks, and solar tracking systems.
  • Basic knowledge of approved cyber security practices.

SCADA Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of SCADA automation design and support experience.
  • Experience with Ignition and N3uron SCADA software.
  • Experience executing a minimum of three large SCADA projects from end-to-end (design to commissioning).
  • Experience with creating HMI graphics from single lines or P&IDs.
  • Experience with ISA 18.2 alarm management standards.
  • Extensive experience with Modbus and OPC-UA.
  • Extensive experience with DNP3 and MQTT.
  • Experience with Modicon M340 PLC programming, Rockwell PLC programming is a plus.
  • Experience with SEL RTAC programming.
  • Experience with remote desktop, SSH, and telnet access methods.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or Computer/Electrical/Automation Engineering with 5 years of related enterprise OT level supervisory experience.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

More generally, global collaboration with internal and external teams will be required for work stream success. Team Lead will coordinate work with other teams and will be expected to manage and meet deadlines while balancing support tasks.

The team lead is responsible for both managing a team and completing engineering tasks directly.
