System Integration/Senior Integration Analyst - AITS (Hybrid/Remote)
Administrative Information Technology Services
Work within a team environment to analyze, design and document integration solutions which meet client requirements. Work within the established system architecture to ensure integrations meet AITS and University technical standards. The System Integration/Senior Integration Analyst will provide leadership, guidance, and support for integration activities and projects.Duties & Responsibilities include:
- Provide functional and technical expertise as a project participant for selection and implementation of services. This requires in-depth knowledge of both the business processes that comprise the service as well as implementation methodologies.
- Staff/Lead Integration projects and monitor project progress with respect to milestones, deadlines, and integration deliverables.
- Design multi-system/complex multi-system integrations that require analysis, design, and implementation of a variety of integration services and techniques to provide a complete business solution.
- Work with project teams to analyze business requirements and document integration components.
- Develop test suites for integration components.
- Ensure technical resources are requested to appropriately support integration work.
- Recommend action to improve operations and correct sources of error in shared system or application that impacts University Human Resources, Financial and/or Student activities. Facilitate and support quality improvement efforts.
- Provide support of integrations in production and non-production environments. This includes researching problems and offering solutions.
- Identify appropriate integration needs and what techniques to use. Design, bundle, document and implement data and functional services based upon standard frameworks.
- Research solutions, methodologies, and industry practices such as web services and business event driven programming.
- Provide estimates for various integration tasks throughout the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Resolve customer complaints with integrations and respond to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
- Collaboratively work with more senior/junior personnel in various situations where it is necessary to receive coaching and mentoring.
- Participate in information sharing opportunities with fellow team members.
- Present integration solutions and proposed changes in architectural standards for integrations to managers and team members/ architectural review committees for formal architectural review.
- Communicate and enforce standards for use and security of networks, computers, and data.
- Provide off-hours/on call support as needed.
- Perform related duties appropriate for a System Integration / Senior Integration Analyst. (5%)
Minimum Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Any one or any combination totaling two (2) years (24 months) from the following categories:
A. College coursework which includes Information Technology (IT), IT Management, Programming, IT systems, or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)- Associate's Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
- 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
- Bachelor's Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
B. Work experience in IT-related functions, such as hardware/software support, programming, network design, network engineering, IT systems integration, or closely related field.
System Integration Analyst Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using Applications Manager (formerly known as AppWorx)
- Experience using Oracle security components and options.
- Experience with Accessibility
- Experience using SQLServer Database Management System.
- Experience using PostGreSQL Database Management System.
- Experience using UNIX (preferably Solaris or Linux).
- Experience with Oracle Data Base Management System and SQL.
- Experience one or more of the following Ellucian Banner modules: Finance, Financial Aid, Human Resources, Student Administration.
Senior System Integration Analyst Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using Applications Manager (formerly known as AppWorx)
- Experience using Oracle security components and options.
- Experience with Accessibility
- Experience using SQL Server Database Management System.
- Experience using PostGreSQL Database Management System.
- Experience using UNIX (preferably Solaris or Linux).

- Four years' experience with IT-related technical analysis and development.
- Previous University of Illinois experience.
- Bachelors Degree
Knowledge and Experience:
- Strong Project Management and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills working with diverse groups of individuals and building partnerships.
- Ability to work independently and as a productive team member/ be a project leader and to work as a team member.
- Knowledge of computer industry best practices and their applicability to the university environment.
- Knowledge of W3 Web Service standards (SOAP, REST, WSDL, etc.), Microsoft Office Product Suite (Word, Project, Excel, etc), Java Messaging Service (JMS), XML
- Strong technical skills to make recommendations on strategy and approach for integrations in support of the University's vision and strategic plan.
- Ellucian Banner technical knowledge (database, forms, batch processes, etc.).
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and to work with shifting priorities and schedules.
Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5031 - Information Technology Technical Associate position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 4/8/2024. We are unable to sponsor an employment VISA or take over sponsorship for an employment VISA for this position now and in the future. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States with no VISA sponsorship. Starting salary is $80,000.00, salary is commensurate with experience.
