Work Location: Playa Vista CA 90094 (First several weeks it will be daily onsite, then hybrid work will be available (3 days onsite, 2 days offsite))
Duration: 3 months, with a high possibility of extension
Pay Rate Range: $48.00/hr on W2
Job Description:
Our client in Playa Vista is currently seeking a Sr. Windows Systems Administrator with experience in systems administration, networking, system virtualization, cloud computing, backups, Windows OS, Linux OS, MAC OS, network storage, load balancer, and associated hardware platforms to join its IT department, working in a dynamic, fast-paced and complex heterogeneous technical environment.
This position will maintain, upgrade, and provide support for the Institute’s back-end systems and networks. The Sr. Windows Systems Administrator needs to be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly, should be able to communicate technical concerns and solutions to many different people with varying degrees of technical knowledge as well as work with individuals in all departments to help solve their technical issues. He/she needs to be able to lead IT projects from inception to completion with little supervision. This position will serve as a mentor to junior System Administrators and there will be infrequent Helpdesk tasks as needed.
Must Haves:
U.S. citizenship required.
· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
· Advanced knowledge on Microsoft technologies: Office 365, Azure, Azure AD/Entra AD, MS Intune implementation and administration, Azure AD hybrid
· Ability to effectively communicate and translate requirements into concrete tasks
· Technical writing to building engineering guides and general how-to articles
· Advanced troubleshooting skills, must be an excellent troubleshooter in a complex and heterogeneous environment
· Effective and clear written and verbal communication skills.
· Capacity to work with a wide variety of technical issues, solve day-to-day technical escalated helpdesk tickets
· Ability to work within a team environment.
· Self-starter with the initiative and ability to complete tasks under minimal supervision.
· Ability to multitask.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
• Seven (7) + years of proven work experience with Microsoft Technologies, Office 365, Azure, MS Intune implementation and administration, Azure AD hybrid, Exchange, SharePoint, SQL, IIS, Active Directory, SCCM, PowerShell
• Migrate or upgrade of Microsoft server OS / Applications
• Working knowledge of Linux and MAC OS
• Working knowledge of Symantec security systems, Endpoint Encryption, Data Loss Prevention
• Knowledge in supporting VMware, SentinelOne, Asana, Slack, Zoom, Confluence, Jira, Backup system Commvault, JAMF
• Strong awareness of networking and internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP and distributed networks.
• Working knowledge of Cloud services, Azure, AWS, GCP, MS Intune
• Enterprise storage management experience (NetApp, EMC, Tegile)
• Compliance and Governance understanding (PCI, PII, HIPAA, DFARS, CMMC)
• Must be an excellent troubleshooter in a complex and heterogeneous environment
• Effective and clear written and verbal communication skills.

• Develops documentation for systems and administration procedures.
• Ability to work within a team environment.

Responsibilities:
• Monitor, maintain, upgrade, and support new and existing Microsoft Windows systems; this includes hardware, software, applications, services and all configurations.
• Administration and support of Azure cloud services, Office 365, MS Intune implementation and administration
• Collaborate with other personnel on technical projects for the advancement of IT services and capabilities
• Provides guidance and direction to lower level staff.
• Monitors systems, servers and auxiliary devices for performance and security. Determines whether adjustments need to be made and confers with technical support staff and vendors as appropriate. Identifies changes that need to be made in the future.
• Recommends changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determines hardware or software requirements related to such changes
• Troubleshoots and identifies hardware and software problems in a timely manner; resolves routine problems, replaces defective components and researches resources to identify solutions. Refers more complex problems to appropriate staff for resolution.
• Performs data backups and disaster recovery operations. Repairs and/or recovers systems.
• Designs, configures, and tests computer hardware, networking software and operating system software.
• Assigns, modifies, and deletes user accounts and resolves security access problems; maintains integrity of the security system.
• Develops documentation for systems and administration procedures.
• Stays informed of new developments and technologies by reading journals and other pertinent publications, maintaining contact with vendors, and participating in professional organizations, meetings and seminars.
• End-user support
U.S. citizenship required. The position may require a security clearance. If so, the successful applicant must be eligible to obtain a security clearance at the time such clearance is required.
