Department Profile
Capital Markets & Core Processing Operations (CMCP) aligns to the Capital Markets desk. This group supports the movement of client assets in and out of the firm, provides asset servicing for our clients as well as front to back Trade Support all the way through to clearance & settlement. Each group's primary focus is to provide quality service to their business partners and Financial Advisors while mitigating the Firm's risk and exposure. The areas that make up this group are: Trade Support (Equity, Fixed Income, Listed Derivatives, Foreign Exchange & Precious Metals), Settlements, Asset Servicing, and Account Transfers. In addition the teams support Consulting Group, Middle Markets and Choice Select.
Syndicate/Structured Products Trade Support and Service is a high risk function given that failure to resolve exceptions accurately and in a timely manner could result in financial losses, regulatory exposures, and reputational risk. It is crucial that trades are processed accurately by trade date to ensure readiness for order management, accurate books and records and client reporting. Regulations require timely and accurate reporting of transactions to TRACE. The team is responsible for the timely and accurate set up of all primary offerings for Wealth Management across Syndicate and Structured products. Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to; product reference data set up coordination, order management set up, test confirmation generation, reconciliations, and client service to our field partners.
The Syndicate/Structured Products Support and Service team have a high level of interaction with Sales & Trading, as well as Financial Advisors, Branch Management, Compliance, The team is also the liaison between the field and the businesses unit / trading desk.
Responsibilities
- Director is responsible for the oversight of the team's day to day process and control execution, service model performance, and innovation portfolio
- Supporting day to day functions that require Director level approvals and items requiring complex/senior level escalation
- Responsible for managing the relationship between the Capital Markets Business and Trading Desks, as well as other key stakeholders across the firm

- 5+ years of experience in financial operation
- History of strong leadership and execution
- Experienced in production, control, and risk management
- Ability to form meaningful relationships with all levels of the organization
- Proven track record for implementing and driving change across service model and process redesign
- Strong people management skill
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $68,000 and $125,0000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
