Job Title: SYEP Program Coordinator
Job Summary:
CASES' mission is to increase public safety through innovative services that reduce crime and incarceration, improve behavioral health, promote recovery and rehabilitation and create opportunities for success in the community. Success in the community includes attaining education and employment credentials, earning job skills and experience, and securing employment. CASES’ Education and Career Services team is looking for a Program Coordinator for the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP). CASES provide eligible youth with an opportunity to have a 6-week paid work experience during the summer, and the SYEP Program Coordinator will support this work.
This is a temporary position from April to August. This position will require a considerable amount of travel within NYC via MTA. This position entails a 25-hour weekly commitment.
Salary:The hourly rate for the SYEP Program Coordinator position is $27.00 an hour.
Shift Hours: The SYEP position is full time from Monday through Friday.
Location Address: 4 West 125th Street New York, NY 10027.
Workplace Flexibility: CASES offers various work arrangements, where possible for certain roles. The SYEP Program Coordinator position is flexible.
What you will be doing:
- With the support of the SYEP Program Supervisor, establish and maintain relationships with employers and the participants to promote a successful internship experience.
- Support Program Supervisor with participant enrollment and submission of participant documentation.
- Secure worksite applications and all supporting documentation to be submitted to program supervisor.
- Facilitate SYEP’s Orientation curriculum.
- Ensure proper program enrollment and worksite placement for youth.
- Worksite monitoring including weekly visits to assigned worksites to collect timesheets, troubleshoot any issues from the employer or the youth participants, and ensure all documentation is completed correctly and submitted on time.
- Comply with all documentation requirements in a timely manner.
What we are looking for:
- Minimum of BA/BS or equivalent experience
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
- Strong administrative skills; Proficient Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel; and proficient in use of Google Docs.
- Experience serving youth ages 14-24.
- Comfort with traveling throughout the city.
- Ability to apply youth development principles and commitment to work from a strengths-based perspective.
- Experience with SYEP preferred.
