This role will play a critical role as part of the leadership team responsible for establishing and growing the business in-market. This role is responsible for developing relationships and originating both simple and complex debt financing arrangements for technology clients and prospects in designated industries and markets. Managing a team of professionals, this position will coach, develop and drive deeper relationships with current clients and drive new opportunities within their designated markets. The incumbent will have a solid understanding of credit and capital markets, financial engineering, competition, technology market and SVB's unique market advantages.

Responsibilities
Leadership and expertise. Remains abreast of market, sector and competitive trends, developing and delivering insights and points of view on loan types and credit / performance trends as well as opportunities to innovate on our solutions. Builds and maintains strong alignment amongst Relationship Management, Credit Administration, Credit Solutions for approaches to credit within stages and sectors. Able to lead high-functioning teams, both direct and cross functional; builds trust and confidence with adjacent teams and senior leadership. Desire to build the future of Corporate Banking at SVB.
Business development responsibilities, new client sourcing, track-record of success, ability to effectively position bank products to address client needs; leverages experience to map client journey with SVB; capable of delivering the entire SVB platform. Oversees the structuring, underwriting closing of credit solutions for team's assigned sector / market / portfolio. This includes allocation of the right resources and providing expert guidance across the business as well as direct engagement as appropriate in opportunities.
Oversees portfolio management for team's assigned portfolio / market / sector. This includes allocation of resources, maintaining credit quality and profitability targets, direct engagement in situations including serving as an ambassador of SVB Tech Banking as appropriate. Leads product partner discussions in Debt capital markets/leverage finance/private placements/upper middle market technology Commercial Banking/non-bank credit origination (up market, i.e. not venture debt) as the primary relationship manager.
Manages a team, providing oversight and guidance, managing workload for the team, driving skills and career development for individuals, ensuring the development and retention of top talent, and delivering on scalability initiatives. Brings energy & enthusiasm to the job, inspires others to follow. Unselfish/Team Player - Focused on success of the team, broader organization vs. self; able to leverage SVB "unfair advantages" effectively. Able to lead to high-functioning teams, both direct and cross functional; builds trust and confidence with adjacent teams and senior leadership. Highly skilled at structuring, negotiating, closing and managing the most complex financing solutions to meet client needs. Exercises judgment and authority prudently and with proper balance for the best interests of the clients and SVB. Ensures that resources are properly deployed for optimal outcomes in both pipeline and portfolio. Engages as SME and trusted partner / expert with key stakeholders (internally and externally). Ensures alignment of cross-functional teams to deliver for the client while maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with one another. Manages a team of Directors, VP's and Associates. Provides leadership for vertical and horizontal teams.
Full command of debt financing, underwriting fundamentals and SVB credit appetite; ability to appropriately position financing solutions to companies; has credibility and "capital" to push Credit Solutions and Credit. Fluent across the right side of balance sheet; able to expertly advise CFO/CEOs regarding capital structure, operational efficiency in treasury.
The base pay for this position is relative to your experience but the range is generally from $222,480.00 - $333,720.00 per year. This position is eligible for variable compensation, which may be in the form of incentive, bonus, or commission pay. Qualifications
Proven ability to build real relationships with C-level executives in Corp Bank target market. Tech sector network relevant for SVB's target market, present and/or future. Leadership - track-record of successfully building teams and ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Bachelor's degree with 10-12 + Years Experience OR High School or GED with 14-16 Years Experience
Preferred experience: Master's degree desirable with a minimum of 10 years of relevant management experience.
- Minimum 10 years of work experience in similar or relevant sectors
- Proven ability to build relationships with CLevel executives
- Network in the tech sector
- Willingness to work as a cross functional team player pulling in various different partners and peers
- Full command of debt financing, underwriting fundamentals as well as financial analysis.
- Understanding of the capital markets and willingness to stay current on events
- Willingness to travel to cover the portfolio and for other events.
