Job Brief
Under minimal supervision, coordinates and completes technical survey work assignments for the Land-Survey Division. Works on a variety of survey related assignments involving analysis of field collected engineering measurements and land boundary property surveys. Reviews, evaluates and analyzes survey boundary related documents. Executes the preparation of graphical spatial presentations (Results of surveys and exhibit drawings) through the utilization of COGO and CAD software program suites and prepares information for the use of field surveying crews in performing construction layout work.
Job Responsibilities

  • Reviews, checks analyzes and evaluates the survey measurement data collected and prepared by field survey crews. Performs necessary calculations and computations to assure required precision and accuracy of survey data.
  • Prepares data for presentation to survey requestors, including drawings, abstracts and reports describing the results-of-surveys.
  • Updates the various surveys record database and job tracking systems, as new survey results are approved for distribution to requestors.
  • Requires travel to field sites and record document source locations to collect information and resolve problems as necessary.
  • Represents Surveys Division through personal contacts with various survey requestors, both internal and external to SRP. Explains and clarifies interpretation of survey data and organizes its dissemination and routing.
  • Understand both ownership and easement land rights and be able to accurately draft base maps to assist in easement acquisition.
  • Understand design prints and construction layout calculations.
  • Thorough research at various county websites and any other record repositories necessary.
  • A thorough understanding of cad drafting in either MicroStation, AutoCAD or similar CAD application.

Education
College level coursework (100+) from an accredited institution will be evaluated on an individual basis according to the skill/level to determine if applicable to the position by management.
Experience
At job entry, placement will be determined by a review of college transcripts and related work experience. A minimum of 6 years of related experience is required for the senior level. Once placed into the job family, an employee may become eligible for promotion by demonstrating the ability to perform advanced and more difficult work as determined by their management and meeting experience requirements.

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
