This involves program planning and analysis for community-based crisis programming as it relates to 988 in collaboration with the DCTS Crisis Team, and data collection and analysis about 988 trends, strengths, and gaps in service provision for grant reporting and planning. You will assist with any new grant writing projects necessary to secure additional 988 funding and outreach activities to create awareness and promote 988 with high-risk and hard-to-reach populations. You will work closely with the DCTS Crisis Team to ensure that the statutory, clinical, and best practice priorities supported by DCTS are aligned with 988 grant service provision.

The position requires advanced oral and written communication skills and the use of grant management skills to coordinate numerous grant-related tasks and meet timelines and expectations to continue grant funding. This position works with a variety of internal and external partners, including Department and Division leadership and officials of other state and federal agencies, and the 988 grant-funded provider agencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Bureau’s lead staff for grant administration for 988, related to alignment with state and federal 988 grant funding
  • Manage the planning, tasks, and timelines of all 988 activities in the Bureau
  • Oversee data collection and analysis of 988 services to ensure positive outcomes
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, policy developers, and the DCTS Crisis Team to gather feedback and distribute information about 988 data and outcomes
  • Enhance the communications and teamwork of the Bureau
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience with system-level work and/or experience with Wisconsin’s crisis intervention services are preferred
  • Extensive professional knowledge of applicable grant coordination and implementation
  • Extensive skill in staffing meetings composed of internal and external professional staff
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles and practices of planning and program development
  • Skill in analyzing and presenting reports and evaluation materials to diverse groups with diverse interests. Such groups may be composed of high-ranking providers, officials, or federal entities with varied interests
  • Extensive oral and written communication skills required for grant reporting and writing
  • Knowledge of the current mental health delivery system in Wisconsin
  • Knowledge and skill in working with a variety of stakeholders including consumers, advocates, counties, providers, clinicians, and departmental staff
