Job Description:
- Resume must disclosed experience in Heart/lung transplant and Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic and in the Skill Checklist.
- Traveler must meet all minimum requirements below to be considered.
- Do not submit traveler who have or will have expiring licenses and/or certifications during time frame of entire assignment. Traveler will automatically be declined.
- Only submit traveler who can work schedule in posting and interested in the unit.
We are seeking a Surgical Tech to:
- Work in our fast paced environment to prepare the Operating Room prior to surgery.
- Work with world renowned surgeons within our Level 1 Trauma Center.
- Prepare for and perform complex surgical procedures.
- Anticipate the needs of and assist surgeons during surgery.
Minimum Requirements:
- Facility Requirement:
- Traveler must have permanent address outside 50 mile radius of Madison (address must be included in traveler's profile).
- Experience:
- Heart and lung transplant experience required.
- Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic experience required.
- Complex cases experience preferred
- Cardiovascular procedures, CABG (Coronary artery bypass graft) and Valve procedures highly preferred. Strong cardiac and thoracic skill set including transplant.
- Two years of scrub experience or equivalent relevant experience required.
- Traveler must have experience in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma center or similar size hospital.
- Prior traveler experience rerquired.
- Licensure and Certification:
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
- BLS must be certified through American Heart Association ONLY
- Education:
- Successfully completed a Surgical Technologist program or two years experience in Surgical Technologist role may be considered in lieu of completion of program.
- Reference
- Needs 2 completed references from recent work environment/assignments (supervisor or manager only for work performed in the last two years).
- Floating
- Travelers are the first to float to floors working with children up to 1 year of age and/or based on the traveler's competency skills/experience. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization . During the travelers assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract.
