Position Qualifications:
- Proof of a current NCCA-approved credential in surgical technology (CST™, CSFA™, or CST/CSFA™).
- A minimum of three (3) years of recent scrub experience or three (3) years recent experience as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past five (5) years.
Requirements
The Surgical Services Clinical Coordinator is responsible for organization, administration, continuous review, planning, development, and general effectiveness of clinical experiences for students enrolled in the surgical technology program. Program specific responsibilities of the surgical technology Clinical Coordinator are as follows:
- Responsible for organizing, administering, reviewing, planning, and developing the students' clinical experience.
- Responsible for the continuous review and evaluation of the clinical experience's effectiveness.
- May be required to teach didactic and laboratory courses as directed.
- Helps develop and implement curriculum changes as directed.
- Serving on institutional and program committees as directed.
- Recruiting new clinical sites as directed.
- Maintaining relationship with existing clinical sites.
- Preparing reports and vision statements as directed.
- Prepares and submits all grades.
- Acts as a student advisor.
- Assist with graduate placement.
- Assist with student recruitment.
- Keeps current in the profession.
- Keeps students aware of all local and national surgical technology meetings.
- Participates in the Advisory Committee and its meetings.
- Orientates new faculty members as directed.
- Participates in continuing education.
