```Overview```
We are seeking a skilled Surgical Assistant to join our team. As a Surgical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting surgeons during surgical procedures. Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to the success of each surgery and the overall well-being of our patients.
This job is Bi-weekly with oppurtity to go full time.
```Responsibilities```
- Prepare operating rooms for surgery, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available
- Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by providing instruments, sutures, and other necessary items
- Maintain a sterile field throughout the surgery by following aseptic techniques
- Monitor patients' vital signs and assist with patient care before, during, and after surgery
- Collect and document data related to the surgical procedure, including patient information and surgical outcomes
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure smooth workflow and efficient patient care
- Adhere to hospital policies and protocols for infection control and safety
- Provide support in critical care situations as needed
```Experience```
To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Surgical Assistant or in a similar role preferred
- Proficiency in using medical terminology and understanding surgical procedures
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Epic is a plus
- Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, including hospital settings and intensive care units (ICUs)
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a diverse surgical team
- Basic life support (BLS) certification required
- Knowlegde of colonoscopy and endoscopy is a plus
