Responsibilities:
- Answer phone calls and inquiries from patients regarding surgery scheduling
- Coordinate and schedule surgeries with patients, surgeons, and operating room staff
- Obtain necessary patient information and medical records for scheduling purposes
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of scheduling information in the system
- Communicate with insurance companies to verify coverage and obtain pre-authorization for surgeries
- Collaborate with other departments, such as the ER, to ensure smooth scheduling and coordination of surgeries
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with phone systems and handling high call volumes
- Knowledge of medical terminology and surgical procedures
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in computer systems and software applications
