Job Summary
Provides direct patient care to neonate through geriatric patient populations. Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. Assists with the maintenance of surgical equipment and inventory. Participates in performance improvement activities. Assesses surgery equipment functioning and readiness, obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of surgical operating team are met. Monitors, positions and assists patient during procedure. Responsible for monitoring patient's physiological status in the immediate postoperative environment. Communicates with surgeon and anesthesia provider, and as needed, about patient conditions; receives direction for patient management. Intercedes to maintain optimum homeostasis.
Qualifications
Education/ Experience:
- Graduate of accredited School of Nursing
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Nebraska
- Current BCLS certification
- Current PALS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Current NRP certification
- Minimum of one (1) year of work experience in PACU or Surgery preferred
