Job Description
Position Overview:

This position is responsible for supply planning in support of both business units for Amcor Rigid Plastics North America. The Supply Chain Planner performs monthly rough-cut capacity planning ensuring plans are accurate and on time. This position will also need to be an effective communicator and have command of necessary information to elevate supply related issues to cross functional stakeholders. The Supply Chain Planner leads projects in their respective responsibility scope in the Supply Chain.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Responsible for day to day production planning and optimization of capacity and inventory supply across all North America locations.
  • Works with plants, and commercial groups to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Provides analytical support for determining short- and long-term container capacity.
  • Helps lead the Supply Chain monthly capacity planning process and is a power user for current and future plant capacity models.
  • Develops capacity plans for new business opportunities and collaborates with key stakeholders.
  • Works with key stakeholders to develop and ensure compliance to inventory targets, communicating deviations and engaging in problem solving solutions where necessary.
  • Develops monthly internal shuttling reports using corporate defined performance metrics and commercial recovery documentation.
  • Assists in production planning for other areas of Supply Chain as required.
  • Active participant in cross functional projects or coordination teams.
  • Supports other Supply Chain tasks and projects as needed

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, Logistics, or similar field
  • 1-3 years’ experience planning multi plant manufacturing operation
  • APICS or other Supply Chain related certification is preferred
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in rough cut capacity planning and inventory planning
  • Experience with ERP and Business Intelligence Software
  • Working knowledge of Supply and Demand Planning principles including but not limited to production scheduling, inventory management, material requirements planning, capacity requirements planning, and product life cycle management
  • Ability to communicate the results of analytic work and plans verbally and in written form is required
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Preferred experience in Demand Planning and exposure to project management as a project team member
  • Demonstrated positive approach to problem solving and the ability to handle multiple tasks and commitments simultaneously.
  • Travel 10%
