Our client a well-established manufacturer is in search of a Supply Chain Manager to lead and enhance Supply Chain operations. In a company dedicated to excellence and innovation, they offer a dynamic work environment that values your expertise and experience.
Position Overview:
As a Supply Chain Manager, your responsibilities will cover all aspects of Direct and Indirect Buying, Plant Distribution, Warehouse Management, Scheduling, and Customer Order Management. You will be at the helm of a team of 6 direct reports, and up to 14 in-direct reports collaborating with various departments to ensure a seamless Supply Chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cultivate strong supplier relationships and ensure a continuous Supply Chain.
- Collaborate with functional managers to translate business requirements into effective Supply Chain solutions.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, eliminating surplus and obsolete materials.
- Address delivery performance issues by working closely with suppliers.
- Determine responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions to meet business objectives.
- Plan, organize, direct, and control activities in Direct and Indirect Buying, Plant Distribution, Warehouse Management, Scheduling, and Order Management.
- Provide essential training for employees on purchasing systems and procedures.
- Manage Production Control systems, including ERP (JD Edwards) purchasing modules, warehouse management systems, and demand forecasting.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives in Production Control processes.
- Provide input on ERP system requirements, including process mapping, monitoring daily actions and reports, and process design.
- Be accessible outside of set work hours to support production, maintenance, and direct reports' needs.
- Prioritize safety and report any accidents or unsafe conditions immediately.
Requirements:
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in a business-related field, with an MBA considered a plus.
- Bring over 7 years of progressive Supply Chain experience.
- Demonstrate strong experience in production planning and inventory management.
- Show experience with ERP implementation or go-live (with a preference for JD Edwards).
- Display strong negotiation skills.
- CPIM or Master Scheduling certification is a significant advantage.
- Lean/Six Sigma certification is also highly regarded.
- Exhibit effective interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization.
