Roles & Responsibilities:
QuEST Global Services seeks technical candidates for the role of Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) who are adept at establishing, investigating, analyzing, verifying, and assuring part/process quality.  This hybrid technical role combines your skills and experiences in Quality, Manufacturing, Design, and/or Supply Chain disciplines to make a positive and sustainable impact every day!
Quest Global Manufacturing engineers to gather a variety of process data to perform Kaizen, SIOP, and other continuous improvement activities at several sites.
The Site SQE encompasses three primary elements:
 
1. Perform Baseline of 2023 SQE Data

    • Obtain Baseline Data of the following metrics Return to Vendor (RTV) Cycle time
    • Preliminary Review Board (PRB) Bond locations inventory levels
    • Reversed QNs
    • QNs Rejected Quantity Changes
    • Reversed SCARs

2. Identify Improvement Opportunities in Supplier Quality Processes
  • Conduct Kaizen of Site's existing processes Supplier Quality Notification (QN)
  • Supplier Caused Customer Escape (SCCE)
  • Notice of Escape (NOE)
  • Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR) Creation Process
  • Preliminary Review Board (PRB) Inventory practices
  • Gather Return to Vendor (RTV) Cycle Time data for inventory in PRB bond location Identify failure modes for aged inventory >30 days.
  • Identify slow moving inventory.
  • Review available Benchmarking data or documented Best Practices to identify opportunities for improvement.

3. Develop & Implement Improvement Projects with Site Stake Holders
  • Coordinate with Site personnel to develop Continuous Improvement projects to reduce RTV cycle time and reduce slow-moving inventory levels.
  • Coordinate with site personnel and stake holders to implement continuous improvement projects.
  • Establish handoff point when continuous improvement projects are complete and in monitor status.
  • After Handoff disengage and restart process on next site.

General Requirements:
 
  • Candidates should be ready to use your technical data, physical review, experience, and quality skills to evaluate parts and processes to assure conformance to Industry Requirements and Quality Procedures across all engineering disciplines and thus the product lifecycle.
  • They also can decipher and resolve quality issues - often drawing upon multiple sources to breakdown complex issues and shed light where needed.
  • While conducting your work (solo / team), you will also need to establish strong customer/supplier relationships.
  • History conducting material/part/process qualification reviews (PPAP, 1st Piece, FAI)
  • Ability to evaluate non-conforming parts / underperforming processes.
  • Experience analyzing/reporting technical data in clear meaningful manners.
  • Participating in Contentious Improvement/Development initiatives (RC-CA, 6 Sigma, DoE)
  • Successfully interacting w/ Manufacturing / Suppliers / Buyers
  • Procedural/Technical writing.  Evaluation of same.

Manufacturing:
  • Ability to read/interpret drawings information. General understanding of GD&T
  • Working in MRP/ERP systems
  • Familiar with modern high tech manufacturing processes (metals & composites)
  • Prior involvement creating/using: Process Flow/Control Plans, PFMEA, Work Instructions, Capability studies, Capacity evaluations, Production Readiness Reviews
  • Knowledge of tooling, fixtures, and part handling/transfer
 
General Engineering:
  • Familiarity with design (preference on Aero-Engine components and assemblies)
  • Interacting / Presenting / Training: Suppliers, Buyers, Engineers, Management.
  • Comfortable interacting w/ multiple computer systems / software  
  • Collaboratively engage daily with your Project / Team leader, Peers
  • Maintain Integrity & Ethics in all situations
  • Generate Continuous Improvement ideas to reduce Waste and Cost of Poor Quality
  • Help Quest Global grow while you learn and develop your career

Required Skills (Technical Competency) / Attributes:
  • Relevant experience in:  Quality Management System, Part Qualification (QA), Non-Conformance Management, and/or Continuous Improvement (Development).
  • Excel / PowerPoint / Outlook - intermediate / advanced user (macros, pivot tables, VB Coding - noteworthy)
  • Entering, probing, and extracting technical data within a MRP / ERP system (SAP preferred)
  • Self-motivated, disciplined, and organized - with ability to focus on semi-repetitive tasks

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
  • Office and/or Shop Floor Environments
  • Lift / Transport 25 lb (occasional)
  • Common activities include sitting, walking, and standing
  • Typically includes substantial amounts of computer work - but can also include hands-on activities (e.g. lifting, inspecting, transporting, etc)
  • Heavily Regulated Industry with strict adherence to procedures and standard work
  • Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late, arriving early, OT
  • Ability to use personal transportation (work, customer, other)
  • Typical 8-hour workdays M-F w/ unpaid lunch / accommodating shift schedule - but sensitive to customer needs.
