Job Description
BÉIS is looking for an experienced Human Resources Director to join their fun, hard-working team of results-driven, creative and collaborative people! Reporting into the General Counsel/Chief Compliance Officer, the HR Director will have a focus on BEIS, establishing and maintaining a sustainable HR infrastructure to facilitate exceptional HR customer service and delivery. This role is responsible for leading a broad range of HR responsibilities including employee relations, talent, performance management, career development, compensation, and employee programs for BEIS. The HR Director will drive strategic operational initiatives and collaborate with key stakeholders. Keep abreast of federal, state and local law changes impacting payroll and HR, and identify system and process.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Culture:
- Partner with President to reinforce the Brands Mission, Vision, and Core Values.
- Collaborate with team members and organizational leaders to promote a culture that engages and inspires employees in alignment with company values.
- Develop and manage employee programs that align with the brands culture and DNA.
- Partner with President and leadership team to craft and execute Team Building/Comradery program's.
- Continuously improve in all areas of employee engagement and retention to become an employer of choice.
- Represent BEIS in standardizing critical HR processes and procedures across the company
- Serve as a resource to the team for employee support, guidance and thought leadership providing a confidential and trusted outlet for all employee matters
Recruiting and Hiring:
- Serve as a strategic thought leader collaborating cross organizationally to maintain a strong org structure, identify short and long term hiring needs and provide resources to ensure effective resource management
- Maintain hiring process throughout all levels of the Brand
- Lead in recruiting strong talent, hiring, and onboarding employees
- Draft, edit and analyze job descriptions that thoughtfully outline the expectations of the role and are consistent with internal quality standards and FLSA requirements.
- Manage all recruiting efforts, applicant tracking, talent sourcing, candidate evaluation and screening, interview process, offer negotiations
Development and Training:
- Create a development and growth training plan for the organization leveraging industry best practices and resources to maximize retention and employee satisfaction
- Partner with President and Executive team to identify and deliver appropriate and meaningful training and development support across the team
- Actively manage retention and development of top performers/high potential talent.
- Guide managers with talent assessments and internal move recommendations based on employee strengths and developmental readiness.
- Lead efforts with leaders related to talent, organizational performance, and culture.
- Lead the Executive Team through Talent Planning process (i.e., succession planning) and implementing meaningful succession plans deeper into the organization
- Create development, growth and learning plans for the company that support goals of company, employees and team aligning with company core values
- Hire and build a strong HR team
DEI:
- Research, develop, recommend, and execute creative strategies to foster diversity
- Ensure recruiting/hiring strategies are developed to attract employees with diverse backgrounds
- Measure and forecast diversity metrics
- Act as a consultant to underrepresented groups and make sure all voices are heard
- Organize trainings to boost employee's communication abilities and team spirit
- Foster a culture of engagement that values inclusion and diversity and at the same time demonstrates fair and consistent management practices.
Employee Relations & Performance Management:
- Provide coaching and guidance to leaders and employees regarding employment issues in areas such as policies, corrective action, leaves of absence, safety, terminations etc.
- Assess a problem, identify the root cause, and make recommendations for improvement.
- Conduct investigations when necessary and provide documentation and recommendations for internal review with management and legal partners.
- Work with leaders to maintain clear assessments of job responsibilities via job descriptions.
- Drive a culture of team effectiveness via an on-going performance management process, utilizing employee feedback, development plans and annual reviews to ensure alignment with the company's annual objectives.
- Lead the semi-annual review process
- Work with leaders to lead and/or support the performance management process ensuring leaders and employees understand and are prepared for discussions while adhering to the timeline throughout the fiscal year.
- Work in collaboration with President to manage compensation and benefits, including salary planning and administration.
- Supports executive team and staff with counseling, employee review and any issue resolution.
- Serve as a liaison with the BHG executive and HR teams to ensure alignment with parent company
Benefits & Leave:
- Assist benefits procedures and programs including ongoing administration; educating employees, assessing the ongoing benefit needs, recommending benefit programs to management, directing the processing of benefit claims, and staying up to date on the latest benefit trends/changes.
- Respond to inquiries from staff on plan provisions, benefit enrollment, status changes and other general questions.
- Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
- Process and administer all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability, & FMLA.
- Respond to 401(k) inquiries from staff relating to enrollments, plan changes & contribution amounts.
- Lead open enrollment process.
- Track/manage and administer Time Off and Leave
- Manage the timecard submissions for non-exempt population.
Office Services:
- Lead the office manager to oversee that office is being run properly and effectively, ensuring any needs of the office are met and appropriately budgeted for
- Lead initiatives to implement regulatory changes to the office to remain in compliance with livable working environment (ex. space planning, safety, infrastructure, postings)
- Partner with President to execute any renovation project to accommodate more working spaces, meeting areas, and training/conference rooms for a growing employee population.
- Ensure the team has what they need to be optimal while working remotely
Operational:
- Ensure all BÉIS business practices align to BHG policies and serve as a liaison for all employee matters
- Provide guidance on special projects, analytics & reporting, talent reviews, training, change management, organizational structure, diversity, and inclusion
- Own relationship with HR vendor partners
- Protect the interests of the company regarding all local, state, and federal legal employment obligations
- Assist in additional projects appropriate to the roles
EXPERIENCE and SKILLS:
- 10+ years of relevant HR experience
- Provides management direction and counseling and have experience with working closely and collaboratively with executive leadership teams
- Has experience in fast growth organizations
- Ability to anticipate needs of the business and advocate on behalf of the team
- Ability to make effective presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Salary Range: $150,000 - $185,000 annually
